Re: Battery for 2.2 HDI

I see there are 2 standards for battery height - 190mm and 175mm. Which one is recommended? Current battery is 190mm and looks on except the plastic cover. If I put 175mm then how to fill the empty space below bracket on top of battery?

OEM code

What is the difference between 3812.A9 and 3812.C4 ? ServiceBox says that 406 HDI 2.2 uses 3812.C4 but some car part dealers offer 3812.A9 as compatible part. Are they equivalent? I tried to order new parts but not sure which one is the correct.

Battery for 2.2 HDI

I have to buy a new battery. In ServiceBox the battery is described as 60Ah. Is this OK or have to put more powerful e.g. 74Ah and what can be the risk with 60Ah - fast discharge in winter and not able to run the engine? I did not find information about height of battery.

Re: Economy mode and being towed

My rear bonnet was replaced and I bother for potential bad wiring => some electric leak. In two cases the message was shown after long time of open doors/bonnet. But usually this is not a problem because lights are turned off after about 5 min and rear lamp is only one. The good explanation is if th...

Re: Economy mode and being towed

What is the reason for ECONOMY MODE? Can it be low power in battery? The car was not used for 4 weeks but ignition is fast, not like low energy.

I want to find the OEM code of elements A and C on the scheme. Unfortunately #3 is missing in table.

Hidden Connects2 bluetooth

Hi. I want to add CTAPGBT010 bluetooth to my 406 car audio. The question is whether it can be hidden behind RD3 CD player? Somebody from other forum told me that there is empty space. Not sure whether his device was Connects2 or Yatour but I guess they have similar size.

Front shock absorbers

I plan to replace front shock absorbers. The brand probably will be Sachs but I am not sure whether gas or oil are better for good comfort? Is there better/recommended brand?

Re: Engine elastic mounting bracket effects

Again for #12 - is it difficult to replace? The technician in local service said that #32 is not easy for change - requires dismount of several parts around it. If #12 is easily accessible I can take the risk (of unnecessary replacement) to replace it together with #32.

Re: Engine elastic mounting bracket effects

One additional effect which I forgot - I feel small vibration on break-pedal when the car is not moving. Can it come from worn #32 / #12.

Re: Engine elastic mounting bracket effects

#12 looks very small. Is it so important and frequently worn? I feel slight vibrations on steering wheel and sometimes they become stronger when I slow down the speed and the road slopes up/down. Not sure it can be described as thump/clunk.

Engine elastic mounting bracket effects

What effects can I see and feel if the engine elastic mouning to the gearbox is in bad state? It is OEM code 1827 16 or #23 from picture. I guess the problem is in #32 but don't know what is the role of #23.

Re: Coolant level sensor replacement

I guess if I open the cap to balance the pressure inside and outside the tank, then put the cap - when the sensor is removed, the coolant cannot leak because of vacuum. In other words the replacement may be done without siphon 500mls off.

Coolant level sensor replacement

Hi. I have red light for coolant low level. The lamp turns off after 2-3km. I checked the coolant level, then replaced it with new and the light is still on for some minutes every day. I think the problem is in coolant level sensor and found another sensor (second hand). The question is how to repla...

Fog light replacement

Hi. My right fog light is broken and I have to replace it. Valeo is best but expensive. Is there preferred brand from these: VAN WEZEL, TYC, or DEPO ?
