what I have done is cross the wires on the plug going into the switch and the fog light came on however when I connected the switch back up the lights were still on. ok I am wondering if the problem could be with my tow bar electrics maybe there is a switch that turns the fog lights off when towing but is stuck does anyone know

Ive checked the fuses it was fuse 19 and that is fine

Hi car failed its mot this morning because rear fog lights not working. Its a 1997 2.0 petrol estate and when I switch the fogs on it lights up on the dash but not the actual lights. The bulbs are good and there is no power going to the bulb holders hope someone can help

I have the heater unit out but nothing to be seen at the back at all just a connector with two wires going to the fan I think the best thing is to put it back together and get another unit from the scrapyard on Monday I will keep you posted

I cant get it out yet but there is a connector about a inch long with about 8 wires going in to it that is not connected to anything so maybe that's whats wrong I will go back out and see if I can get it out

Right the only thing that is keeping the heater unit in is the wire that goes to the heater dial I am trying to disconnect that now

I will get another from the scrapyard and swap it over then I will have a speedo that works. At the minute I am looking at the heater fan but something is holding it back I've undone the two torx screws and the unit comes out but something behind it is holding it in I will check back in a few minute...

thanks for all your replies the engine is a 2 litre 16 valve petrol, I will get on with all your suggestions on Monday when I have time off as someone said it will be the heater fan first then the speedo. It sound fairly easy even if its parts from the scrapyard I feel quite confident now
