Hi, I may be able to help??????????????????????????????????? In a round about way..... I was just about to list my old but very servicable 1197R, 2.1TD GLX Estate on Ebay. In less than a year, it has had a new clutch (£340) New Water Pump, New Cam belt, new Aux belt, new tensioners - both, new lower...

Re: Veggy Oil in Diesel
I too have an R reg 2.1TD (with 225k) and until recently, I was adding Lidl veg oil at the rate of 3 Litres per £20 Diesel. [I intend to increase the ration as the weather gets warmer!] The car ran well with no problems to report. Two reasons I stopped for the moment: (1) Cold weather (and we had a ...

Re: D8 Foglight installation
While we are talking about Fogs - I would like to 1/2 hijack this thread if you don't mind....and maybe save you some cash :!: I don't think they are actually worth retro fitting! - I have them as standard on my 2.1GLX. I thought that they would be great in actual FOG and also useful to scare the DE...

Re: Height Adjustable Headlamp problem
Cheers V6 for the speedy reply - luckily not at work today - had a look and a fiddle and I think its ok now :!: In the dingy afternoon, when I did this, I think that I must have actually used the little ball thingy to push the reflector plate out of position....next time the order of work must be: (...

Re: cabin heater fan is not working properley
Hi Johnrobert, Had the same problem myself earlier this year! If I can fix it then anyone can... Bought a replacement fan (which includes the control unit) from a local (Devizes Reclamation - shameless plug) vehicle recycling facility for about £10. Also got a manual from Ebay - about £10. Did a bit...

Re: my 406 2.1 diesel clutch trouble 1996
I have almost the same motor (1997 - 225k - 2.1TD -GLX) Sounds like my number 2 mechanic did the job......he lifted the filler cap and said that "as it was a sealed system it would never need topping up" - oooh err!! Won't be going back to him then!! I have to say that other than second gear, which ...

Damm & Blast and other unprintable words - I can't believe it! (Victor must drive a pug!) Now my drivers door lock refuses to work - it won't open or lock with the key, the whole key actually goes round and round (and the remote STILL isn't working in spite of my re-programming efforts as instructed...
