Anyone here who can help code a transponder for 206?
Hey folks did a silly thing and lost the one key that starts our 206 last night :-( We have the original remote key that opens doors, and turns engine over but at some point it has lost its transponder chip. A bit of research suggests it can be replaced fairly cheaply and if you know someone who has...

2002 406 hdi 2.0 rapier approx 186k
Thinking about scrapping as I cant afford to MOT or retax. Shame as I have done a lot of work to her and the latest I did was to replace the rear hubs, those pesky splash guards, calipers and disks (and pads) and left and right brake cables but the exhaust needs work and a new central handbrake cabl...

Handbrake centering? pins
Hey folks so the pins holding my handbrake shoes worked loose and disappeared some time ago now due to an elongated hole in the back plate. I need to sort out. I have read here about the possibility of using a nut / bolt combo with washers to secure however I am concerned this will be far too rigid ...

Re: Don't forget to check your antifreeze!
Replacing the core plugs was easy. Popped a hole in the old one with a drill and just prised it out with a large screwdriver. Popped some silicone sealant around the new one and found a socket that fit inside the core plug happily and tapped it into the block. Hardest part was having to remove the ...

Core plug failure :-(
Hi folks, ok, two years after skimming the head from a failed gasket and now a core plug has rotted through and left me stranded! :-( I am planning to do the job myself (garage where it is currently residing wants 450 as it is inaccessable) but from last time I did not work out a way of removing the...

Re: Cure found for poor fm reception
ok, but I suppose the result might be that weaker signals are no longer received, or that you might get distortion in very strong signals. If it saves a radio though all is good :-)

Re: Cure found for poor fm reception
Is it possible that in your case there was a dry joint and while reflowing and bridging the original problem was inadvertently solved?

Re: Wanted Clarion PU-2473A for spares
Thanks Doggy, I'm in Notts. Good thinking, I'll update my profile later. Hopefully it won't come down to needing a new stereo, I understand the CD player fails frequently on these head units so I'm hoping a donor unit is out there somewhere! A lad at work had a CD failure, turned out to be a slippi...

Re: Wanted Clarion PU-2473A for spares
This is most likely dry joints, but it is an advanced repair, as removing that daughter board from the main board without damage is very hard work. I replaced the tuner control I.C. on my unit which temporarily restored operation, but then the symptoms have intermittently come back, so there are oth...

Re: How to remove rust without breaking a sweat...

Never happened though :-( Anyway, reverse electrolysis is great for removing rust but there are a few things the you tuber has not stated! For starters the bit to be de-...

Re: Struggling to remove the cylinder head! Hdi90
Alright so I think I have found the bolts that attach turbo to manifold, however they are rusted solid and hard enough to get too! So I am wondering has anyone else managed to remove the head with the turbo still attached? It would make like a whole lot easier however the Heynes Manual would suggest...
