Re: K-Seal

Seen quite a few testimonials for K-Seal but most, if not all, have been for lower performance cars; seen nothing on Hdi/Turbo etc. However it seems to do the job and is probably worth a try. 8)

K-Seal

Anyone used K-Seal?. I have an ongoing problem with coolant loss but only when I am towing. Suspect that the head gasket may be starting to go. Willing to give K-Seal a go but need assurance that it will be ok in my 2.2 Hdi GTX. Given the engine is fairly high performance, will it stand K-Seal being...

Re: Horn fault

:) Had the same symptoms with my 2.2 Hdi GTX. Took the advice of boys on this site and kept away from the steering wheel. Instead went for the simpler cheaper option of cleaning up the contacts on the actual horn(s). They are located behind the front bumper below the lights and accessed by going in ...

Re: New 406 owner...Sat nav CD , Remote control, Time & Date set

8) I'v got a 2.2 GTX Hdi on a 2001 plate. My handbook lists two possible display screen types. On the first type there are two small indented buttons, one on either side of the display screen. Press the left button for two seconds to access the settings. Then press the same button repeatedly to scro...

Head Gasket

 Yep, it probably is the gasket. Anyone got any idea what the approx costs are? Can't afford stealer prices; will the head need to be skimmed:?:

Head Gasket

:? I have had a pressure test carried out by the local stealers (for free). they said that there was a pressure drop, from 1.4 Bar down to 1.1 Bar and therefore suspected an internal leak. However they wanted money before they would investigate further. I am therefore left with second guessing the p...

Head Gasket

 Help needed, I have an ongoing problem with coolant loss. Every time I tow my caravan and make the engine work fairly hard I get the ''coolant low'' light come on. I top up (about 1/2 litre) and motor on. If I drive carefully and keep the speed down it does't happen. I drive to work (50 mls ro...

Aerial Mount

When I replaced my broken aerial mount (2.2 Hdi GTX) I had to access it from inside via the internal light cluster. I expected to see the remnants of the aerial mount spigot secured by a nut. Instead I was confronted with what looked like a small metal cylinder which was obviously masking the nut. T...

406 Aerial Mount

I was just put off when I had a look through the interior light cluster and could'nt figure out how to remove what looked like a cylindrical housing to get at the nut which was inside it! The housing turned out to be an amp of some sort (I guess), which had a press fit cap. I eventually removed the ...

Aerial Mount

[align=justify]:D The Aerial saga has ended. I obtained an Aerial Mount from my local stealer for approx £3.50 + VAT. I asked them how much to fit it (due to it being fairly difficult to get to), they quoted half an hour @ £44 + VAT. Though I'm not very numerate, I realised that they must charge ove...

:D Well it worked, Took the horns off one by one, removed the electrical connection clip which revealed a bulk standard male/female connection. Used one of the wifes emery board nail thingy's to clean up and they worked!! :P
