Re: Turbo Vane Issue

Ha ha, no not the whole can.... If the engine is ticking over while doing this, the revs will increase as the WD40 is going through - short bursts is fine. Welly may be right about possible ramifications, but its a trick the Vee-Dub boys do, word up. I guess you could undo the elephant hose at the ...

Holy sh*t don't do that! WD40 will burn when it reaches the cylinders and could affect the injectors etc.
So what should i do with the WD40 part? haha

The WD40 seems to work okay, its certainly cheaper and seemed to work on mine but probably a placebo.....
I see.. so i just buy Wd40 and spray all of it after the maf sensor? All at one go? or should i make it in intervals ?

Re: Turbo Vane Issue

There are a couple of things to try... 1) Spray WD40 into the air intake ( after the MAF ) and suck on the turbo vacuum pipe that moves the pistons that actuate the vanes, simultaneously.. I need to do mine again, but I may push the boat out and do this :arrowd: if I can shift some old parts I have...

Turbo Vane Issue

Hi , So i have a 406 coupe 2003 2.2 hdi 5 speed manual , and it has an issue with the turbo vane. Its a bit difficult to explain bur recently i was almost sure that there was some boost leak somewhere since no boost was coming under 2800 revvs. This is what happens when variable vane is in action - ...

Re: Engine Failure

So after 2 days driving car seems to be performing better every day ! :D Just to take it off my mind if it had to be a cracked block it would have been felt right? I am still checking radiator coolant level every time and no change at all Dipstick also seems to be clear Thanks a lot for your kind he...

Re: Engine Failure

The grey stuff in the oil filler cap is only condensation and nothing at all to worry about! +1, I agree. Give it time to dry out, maybe a good run will help. Will do tomorrow, i just wanted to see from you if it was possible that it was a cracked head or block, but from what you are saying it has ...

Re: Engine Failure

I can't see how water could enter the engine sump or the cam cover except by condensation. If you are worried about it do an oil and filter change. Thats also what i thought.. and if it was that there is a crack somewhere in the engine due to sucking some water from the inlet symptoms would be much...

Re: Engine Failure

Water wasnt high enough to reach the airfilter The air intake is quite low down, by the front wheel - check the thread regarding 'shallow water'. If the pipe has popped off, you will lose vacuum which MAY affect the swirl valve. As a thought, if you are missing the oval rubber bung in the wheel arc...

Re: Engine Failure

Hi Ginger Magic ! Thanks for your quick response , Car was only running for about 5 minutes , i highly doubt that it was red hot. Will be checking if the pipe from the turbo solenoid is still attached to the turbo. If this popped off with water the vacuum for the swirl valve also becomes disabled? W...

Re: Turbo Issue

So i went to a local mechanic and told me that the electro valve of the Turbo is the same as the electro valve of the EGR, they both do the same job. So to test if this issue was coming from a faulty EV i switched these EV, but problem still remains.. Also he told me that the EV gets powered by a 6 ...

Re: Turbo Issue

So i went thru every vacum pipe and there seems to be totally no leaks at all.. When disconnecting both pipes from the EV there seems to be no movement at all from the swirl valve( which i think its normal) On the EV there is a label on the top spout called "VACUUM" and the other named "OUT" I left ...
