Re: Cruise or not ? UPDATED NEWS, CRUISE FITTED! YEAAAHHH
I have been fiddling today but still haven't managed to get CC working. Just now I discovered that the links in my previous post aren't working. Sorry 'bout that ;) My car was originally fitted with the 0 281 001 977 unit. No option for cruise control on this ECU, tried various versions of SW. Now I...

Re: JUMPING OUT OF FIFTH

Re: Cruise or not ? UPDATED NEWS, CRUISE FITTED! YEAAAHHH
I have managed to get an ECU of version 0281010248 from Ebay, swapped the immo chip from my original ECU to it, flashed sw version 1037359169 onto the 29f400bt chip. The car will start, but i get a couple of faults when reading the ECU with PP2000: https://photos-2.dropbox.com/t/2/AAD_0wvXfUPnjaLKkk...

Re: JUMPING OUT OF FIFTH
Haven't been around for a while, but I will have a look at the bottom enginen mounting. Thanks for the hint.
I usually drill a hole in a driveshaft nut and split it with a chisel if it refuses to move. These nuts aren't very expensive.

Re: JUMPING OUT OF FIFTH
Bumping an old topic ;)
My '99 HDI (RHZ) has developed a similar problem. As long as i press the accellerator pedal it stays in fifth gear, but when I release the pedal it jumps out of gear to neutral.
Has any of you had this problem before? What's causing this?

Great, thanks for your answer. Must be 0281 010 248. That one was on my list of ECU's that might be suitable, but now I'm sure.
Now I know what to look out for.

Re: Replacement keys
I would like to learn a new key to the BSI on my 1999 Hdi (RHZ). I do have the access code, but the problem is that this access code has letters and numbers. But in PP2000 I can oly enter four numbers. Do I need another version of PP2000? Also I have tried to match a used 1 key RF remote, but withou...

Sorry to bump an old topic, but I am trying to sort exactly the same problem.
RayneR, what HW/SW numbers does your 'new' ECU have?
It will help me to find the right one.
