Help with airbag plugs please

Hi all, i have a 2002 406 and need a bit of help, its a long story but i need someone to take a look at the back of their com2000 and tell me the colours of the wires for their airbag connections. If the 406 is the same as the com2000 i'm looking at there is a blue plug on the bottom left (as you fa...

Re: Help virginising BSI

Ok, i've figured out how to remove the eeprom, download its dump file and find the security pin. The pin was on line 00000070 and is obvious in the ASCII portion of the dump file, its the four characters together. Desoldering and soldering eeproms isn't difficult, ive tried a couple of methods but t...

Re: Anyone breaking a 406?

Yes mine does appear to be different, it doesn't have the red - whatever it is to the right of the display. Sorry. The surround for the radio appears to be missing although it maybe in the car somewhere, I will have another look. Peter The red part is a button which i added myself Peter, it was a w...

Re: Anyone breaking a 406?

No worries, I misunderstood. Try Ade, he is a Coupe breaker among other things and he may possibly have the bits of loom you need. I've dealt with him before and he is well respected among the 406 forums You'll find him on eBay - https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/bbautos Let him know you got his details f...

Re: Help virginising BSI

I think if there's a difference between the mileage stored in the BSI and the mileage stored in the cluster, the cluster just goes with the highest of those two figures, i have no idea how erasing the BSI gave me 600k though. At this stage i'll need to reprogram both the BSI and the cluster, i suppo...

Re: Help virginising BSI

Well, i've just plugged in the "virginised" BSI and my mileage has gone from 124k to 600k! I've had a quick look online and this happened to another chaps car after the BSI developed an issue, maybe it defaults to 600k in some circumstances. So, now i have to work out how to do mileage correction to...

Re: Help virginising BSI

Update: I don't know where to get the appropriate software to virginize the BSI or retrieve the security pin so i've asked Peugeot to provide the key and erased the eeprom (apparently that's all it takes to virginize BSI's the majority of the time). I've printed out all the programming info via plan...

Re: Anyone breaking a 406?

The small wire inside the steering wheel i need connects to the grey plug pictured below, the spade connector on the back of the airbad and the screw im pointing to in the photos below. The grey plug then sits in the recess i've photographed (it would be nice to see how the wire was routed)

Re: Anyone breaking a 406?

It might not be the right car Peter, i'm no expert but i think the later 406 (mine's 2002) was slightly different. The parts i need are... The length of wire under the steering column that has the blue airbag plug, grey BSI plug and another airbag plug that im not sure of the colour, it's easy to sp...

Re: Central locking help required

Just a thought - have you checked for broken wires in the flexible loom section but the drivers door check strap? Thanks but i'm more or less certain the problem is the BSI, i think the software has corrupted. Time to learn how to virginise and reprogram BSI's! If anyone has tried this before do le...

Re: Anyone breaking a 406?

I will go and have a look when I get five minutes. Peter Thanks Peter, turns out i need a length of wiring too, it's the wiring with the two airbag plugs that go into the com2000 (presuming your 406 has this). the wiring runs under the steering column cowling, right under the bottom of the column.

WANTED nonworking factory CD Stereo for spares.

The factory Clarion PU-2473 head units seem pretty rubbish and fail all the time with loss of radio reception or CD player failure so i'm betting there are plenty of broken ones out there if they haven't already been thrown away. If anyone still has a broken one going for spares please let me know.
