Re: 7 seater seat belt bolts...

Thanks fellas - think I'm gonna go the lazy route as suggested above and get the pennies out.
Getting bored of driving around with boxes of trim and belts in the back :)

7 seater seat belt bolts...

After the saga of my electrically mad 406 and subsequent scrapping, I found another estate and removed the 7 seat bits to fit into it. Simple...well no actually :/ The old bolts were UNF (7/16?) and the new car (only a year newer by reg) seems to have a smaller, coarser metric thread. I have no bolt...

Re: Dilemma...

Been fettling the new shed a little over the weekend... Fixed the MFD as all 3 bulbs had blown. One dipped beam was out so I fitted a couple of those flash (geddit?!) osram nightstalkers (fink that's what they're called!) ;) and saved the evicted bulb as a spare. Swapped the 2 week old bosch wiper b...

Re: How about this for a deal ...

Very good fortune indeed..... The front seats are easy, you will need your ignition to have been off for at least 5 mins before unplugging the air bag connectors under the seats. Cheers, that's saved me making a new thread - wasn't sure if it required battery disconnecting. Some decidedly tired sea...

Re: Dilemma...

Back in the zone! 8) Picked up a hdi 90 estate this evening, Xsara's off to it's new owner at the weekend. Saved my arse over chrimbo and although I'll take a hit, it's a damn sight less than a hire car would have shafted me. Few bits I need to swap off the old one, front seats being the most pressi...

Re: Dilemma...

Ok, that one had gone... Walked in on Saturday lunchtime and saw the price was no longer on the screen, walked into the office to see the new owner handing over the folding and picking up the keys. However I've found a possible at another local specialist (the *only* other local specialist in fact!)...

Dilemma...

My 406 is now declared dead after the saga described here: http://www.406oc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=23848 The continuing leccy gremlins along with no MOT and requiring work with an impending timing belt change means I had to be unemotional. However, I've found a slightly less tidy but seemingly be...

Re: ECU fried...literally :/

Sadly this sorry tale looks like it's approaching a thoroughly unsatisfactory end... :( Needed a car badly over Chrimbo for various reasons, went to pick the brain of a Pug/Cit independent who I've had dealings with years back and after recounting my trials and tribulations he agreed it's a bit of a...

Re: ECU fried...literally :/

Should have PP2000 working on a laptop tomorrow...altho the chances of pulling a big f*ck off rabbit out of my non existent hat before xmas are pretty slim I'd wager. So I find myself on Gumtree slightly ashamedly searching "almera" Is this what it's come to?! Only thing in my price range that might...

Re: ECU fried...literally :/

Yeah it's what I'm scared of...I'm already into round one of parts roulette and while I know these definitely needed replacing, from here on in it's a potential money pit. If only I had a old laptop with XP on it I think I'd be on it with PP2000 - I have a cable from a former Audi shed adventure whi...

Re: ECU fried...literally :/

Update...and it's not good :/ Fitted ecu/bsi/key chip Saturday and to my initial delight started first time. But revved straight up to just under 3k and throttle seemed to have little/no effect (actually lowering revs when pressed hard!) Turned off ignition, unplugged MAF sensor and oddly it started...

Re: ECU fried...literally :/

Phew! Cheers, puts my mind at rest. :D
Kit arrived this morning, all looks in order.

Can think of better ways to spend me first Saturday off work in yonks, but needs must.
Thanks for all the help and advice, here's to a triumphant return tomorrow eve...

Re: ECU fried...literally :/

The thought has crossed my mind :( I've managed to source what I hope is the right bits now and I figure for the sake of 60 quid and a mornings removing skin from my knuckles, it's worth a shot. As you say, possibility of other damage and whether the fault that caused it is still there are a worry. ...

Wanted: ECU/BSI/Key set for 1999 Hdi 110

Long shot cos Ebay and local breakers have come up with nowt.
I think anything pre mid 2001 from a 110bhp hdi is good.
Can you save Chrimbo for me? :)

Re: ECU fried...literally :/

Cheers for the replies fellas, gonna scratch around locally and see if I can grab the holy trinity of ecu/bsi/key from a similar aged 110 tdi. Given the state of the ECU, even if I could code a s/h one to my car who knows what happened the BSI when the fireworks were going on. Just hope my theory th...
