Hi all! My 406 2.0 16v Gasoline has a problem with fog on the inside of the windshield. The weird part is that its only on the drivers side (this is a LHD car). Alright! My backplates isn´t that bad, but they can´t support the pin for the brake shoes, im thinking of adding a bolt instead of the pin instead. But if i where to change the backplates, can I re-attach the wheel bearings or do i need to get new ones?

So they arent cheaper somewhere in the UK?

If i were to use the old caliper mounts, where can i get the backplates as cheap as possible? The cheapest ones i have found in Sweden are about 60 pounds each, and thats without the mounts!

spoke to carz2.co.uk and they confirm the backplates don't have the calliper plates. I took a deep breath and just ordered new ones from Peugeot. feeling strangely elated and a bit depressed at the same time... You can easily swap over the caliper brackets from the old ones and fit them to the new ...

Got the result from the mechanic today. Apparently the rear brake shields had rusted so bad that the handbrake-shoes hade come off their bolts(?). So now i need to get new brake shields. How do i know which type of brake shields i should use? I saw that there is two different kinds, one is more stur...

Really appreciate the help guys! I´ve got a qoute from my local mechanic now. They want about 213 GBP for labour and parts for changing the parts inside the drum. Now i just need to either get the brakes to loosen so i can drive to the mechanic or get a tow-truck .
