Engine swap

Am having probs with the 2.0L hdi. I'm beginning to suspect the head might be gone. It runs fine but seems to be chucking the water out of the expansion tank. But anyway at 211k anything could be wrong. Was going to get another engine an drop it in but maybe I could upgrade at the same time. Does an...

Re: 2.0. v 2.2 Hdi engines.

My 2.0 110 with a 125hp map on it usually gets around 48/49mpg. I have reoccurring issues with the rear brake calipers, I can always tell its time to pull them apart again because the economy goes down to around 38-41mpg. Maybe one of your cars has dragging rear brake calipers too?

Re: Lumpy Idle

Ok, so I tried the unplug everything and plug it back in scenario. I used a whole can of electrical cleaner, and result! The lumpy idle instead of being all the time is sometimes. Still starts lumpy, and with a cloud of grey smoke, but clears and will idle nicely. Then then it wont... the engine has...

Re: Lumpy Idle

They were new recon ones, but yeah, should be fine! The are quite noisy tho, like a claking sound at low revs, so that makes me suspect them still. It could be compression, but wouldnt you be down on power or economy? I haven't check it tho, so can't rule it out. The engine has done 210k miles so I ...

Lumpy Idle

I'm at a loss here, my HDi has developed a really lumpy idle. I've changed the injectors and all was well for about 1500 miles. Began to get noisy and lumpy so assumed one of the new injectors had failed. I was correct as a leak off test proved one was way off the others. Changed that one, but idle ...

Re: Injectors

Will have a look at the scrap yard over the weekend I think for those 307 o76 injectors, I know there are plenty of 407's and C5's and things there. I hope it not the head gasket in mine, no water loss or oil cream tho so im pretty sure it's fine. Does anyone know anyone nearish to north wales with ...

Injectors

Ok, so I think I might have an injector issue. Idle is a little lumpy unless it engine is very very warm, and when not quite warm revs between idle and 1300rpm vibrate quite bad. Fuel economy also seems to be quite bad, but not all the time. Did a bit run down to London and back, averaging about 33-...

Alloy wheels

Hey everyone, having since upgraded my wheels I have my old 16" alloys available. They are a bit beaten up (hence replacements!) but come with 4 matching tyres that were on when MOt'd in August. I know 2 of the alloys have been bent a bit in the past but balanced up fine, 2 I'm sure are fine. Anyone...

Re: 307 Comm2000 Ills

Ok, we do do them, have a look on line, currently there is a 30% discount running... might be really cheap. You will need to read thru all the specs and match off with yours tho (fogs, ESP, rainsensor...etc..). The OE number don't cross directly i'm afraid...

Re: electric seats

Thats it, the manual adjust ones moved right forward to clear the rear bolts, but the electric seems to reach a stopper notch on the underside of the rail before they clear the bolt heads. I thought they must be hitting something else but there is nothing else there and they are definitely stopped o...

electric seats

Hey everyone, finally gotten around the putting in the front electric seats I've had a few weeks now. How the heck do I remove the rear seat bolts to the floor? The wreck I got them from I cut the bolts off as there was no power in the car and I couldn't move the seats out of the way. I assumed that...
