My 406 is driving me crazy, need some help

2002 Peugeot 406 2.0 HDi 110. 1. How do I disable check engine light? After replacing MAF few months ago, it is constantly showing "Anti pollution fault" and check engine light is on. And it doesn't go away. Mechanic even reset it but after car turning off and on, same thing. 2. A month ago, old pro...

Re: Strange jerking during driving. Injectors?

MAF connected or not, I still get Anti pollution fault and check engine is always on. I even tried to clear it with that cheap OBD2 diagnostic, but that doesn't do anything. I bought EGR cleaner and sprayed it in air intake while keeping the car at 2000 rpms. Connected back MAF sensor and the light ...

Re: Strange jerking during driving. Injectors?

Tried driving it with MAF unplugged, check engine light still on and it shows anti pollution fault when starting.

Jerking with MAF unplugged is still there, but it seems like not as a much, but maybe it's just in my head.

Re: Strange jerking during driving. Injectors?

Jerking forward is now even more noticed while driving.

I removed MAF to see if it's dirty, and now I get anti pollution fault with check engine light on.

Re: Strange jerking during driving. Injectors?

Thank you. It's starting fine, idle is fine, but like I said, sometimes at low speeds and at normal crusing speeds where I keep throtthle at same position, I notice jerking forward and RPMs tend to oscilate a little, I even notice it on the dial. It seems that fuel consumption has increased, but I'm...

Strange jerking during driving. Injectors?

Hello everyone. Few days ago, I noticed that my Peugeot 406 2.0 HDi 110 tends to jerk forward. Sometimes while I just start moving, sometimes during driving open road I feel the car jerking forward a little, it doesn't work smoothly. I don't know how to explain it better since English isn't my nativ...

Re: Handbrake issue, failed MOT

After playing with handbrake cable, spraying it with WD40 and adjusting handbrake shoes, I decided to go to MOT to see what will happened and I passed. 36% was difference between left and right wheel before, now is 22%. Handbrake locks wheels at 5. notch so that seems fine. Thanks everyone for help....

Re: Handbrake issue, failed MOT

If the cable is frozen/seized, you wouldn't be able to lock that wheel at all or?

In my case, both wheels are locking when I apply the handbrake, but right wheel catches sooner and stronger then left.

Re: Handbrake issue, failed MOT

I just spent about 2 hours working on this problem and still nothing. Like i expected, there is some rust on cables under the car. I sprayed it with WD40 but I still can't seem to loose lock nut. Because of rust, feels like it's welded on cable. Tommorow I will try again. Anyway, when I pull handbra...

Handbrake issue, failed MOT

Just yesterday, I went to MOT with my 406 2.0 HDi 2002. Everything is fine except handbrake. Handbrake difference between right and left side is above 30%, 36% in my case and that is the reason I failed. Right 1903N, Left 1213N. So there is some difference. Guy that is working there said that this c...

Re: Having trouble with radiator fan

I've just checked the fan in my shed. It has the grey relay, one small grey connector with 3 pins, one larger black connector with 2 pins ( one male one female ) The fan spins by hand, although the metal parts are a little rusty from storage. Any good to you? That seems right. Too bad I'm not from ...

Re: Having trouble with radiator fan

Okay, I'm going crazy. After about 50 messages to new and used car parts dealers, I can't seem to find fan with 5 pins. Everyone has one speed - 2 pin versions. Can somebody help me with finding part info and from what other vehicles does it fit. I found one fan from Citroen C2/C3 that looks pretty ...

Having trouble with radiator fan

Basically, my radiator fan died so I'm looking for a new one. It wouldn't be so bad if I don't have trouble finding one. My 406 is 2002. 2.0 HDi 110. As i removed old fan, I realized that it has 5 round contacts. 2 larger and 3 smaller ones, while every fan I seem to find online has only 2 contacts ...
