Re: How to remove break servo?

But, do I need to touch the linkage? I just want to remove the servo itself..
In the video of coupe the guy managed to remove servo without removing the linkage.

How to remove break servo?

Hi, I bough 406 2.0 HDi 110 and it has very hard break pedal and breaking is a bit weak. I've checked all break pads and disks and they look in pretty new condition.. rear right caliper is a bit seized, and the pad is wearing a bit unevenly, easy fix but that is not why the pedal is hard. I suspect ...

Re: Clanking noise from engine bay.

So I had some time today and yesterday and did some checks.. First, no issues with auxiliary belt, cam belt or crankshaft pulley. Next, I decided to change the oil + filter and here I found the problem. When I drained the oil there was less than 1 litre of oil in it there.. Put a new filter + topped...

Clanking noise from engine bay.

Hey everybody, yesterday my beloved 406 started making some very worrying clank-clank sounds just as I was arriving home.. (like 200m from home I could suddenly hear some clanking sounds from engine bay.. the more I rev up the engine the faster the clank was) So I pulled to my driveway and checked t...

Re: Driveshaft popped out.

I had no idea how the inside is connected, so I was a bit worried I broke something by pulling it too hard... but once you learn how the inside looks and works, you can see that the whole part is not hold together by anything.. it's just the little rubber cover that prevent it falling out and of cou...

Re: Driveshaft popped out.

I fixed it! The problem was that the rubber cover was too narrow for the popped out part to just push back by force alone.. as it would not fit through that rubber cover neck that it plopped out from... Once I started bending it and rotating it and slowly tried to pull the rubber part over the bulb ...

Re: Driveshaft popped out.

The black stuff is grease/oil from inside the rubber cover. I managed to get the driveshaft out... still no idea how to pop it back together... the large metal clip that is holding the rubber cover seems to be like one piece. Any idea how to non-destructively remove it? https://i.imgur.com/wvD55iE.j...

Driveshaft popped out.

Hey guys, I was just trying to change the balljoint on the front driver side and while trying to loosen the balljoint I pulled the hub too much out and the driveshaft went 'PLOP' on the inner joint and now it looks like this: https://i.imgur.com/sJHcG5Q.jpg Any idea if it could be un-plop and push i...

Front windscreen replacement.

How hard would it be to replace the windscreen on 406?
Has anybody done it here? Any special tools that would be needed?
How is it holding in there? Glue or some other way?

Crankshaft sprocket part number?

Anybody know the part number of the crankshaft sprocket for 2.0 hdi 90 (DW10TD)?
On service box the part is marked on diagram as number 10 but the description on the right hand side is missing completely which is puzzling..

Re: MFD backlight not working, bulbs ok.

So I had some time to mess with the display and I kind of "fixed" it.. the back lighting is now on.. but, it's not optimal. Back light is now ON all the time.. even with key removed  so I don't think this is how it is supposed to be... But I am not an electician.. I have no idea how to trouble...

Re: MFD backlight not working, bulbs ok.

Thanks guys, I don't think the display is broken tho.. it is fully functional, button works, I can set the time, date, etc.. just the backlight is gone: https://i.imgur.com/jnXIn8v.jpg I will try to trace it further with multimeter and try to locate where the voltage is getting lost. Bulbs contact a...
