Obd / obd2 port
Hi guys, I have a 2001 hdi 90 bosh 406.
Do these cars use obd2 for scanners/ diagnostic checking etc or is it the like of PP2000 used for this as obd doesn't talk to them?
Many thanks,
Gilly

Re: strut top knock
Hi there,
Have a look at your struts and springs also to make sure a spring has not broke or strut blown.
406 springs are very long and can often break without the driver even knowing.
As you are changing top mounts you will have these all disassembled anyways

Re: Air doser Hdi 90 delete?
Don't worry about a catch can, as the oily air from the crankcase can act as a way to lubricate the turbo inlet :cheesy: I believe later Hdi had no air doser ( 2003/2004 ) so a solid pipe can be obtained and used in place of the doser. If your doser is leaking, which does happen, then I would certa...

Re: Air doser Hdi 90 delete?
Hey rwb, Thanks very much for your reply... Very helpful indeed!! I have already bunged the hose for the egr so looks like I'll just leave the air doser then. Is the crankcase breathing system pretty good on the hdi's? I see there are 2 breather pipes... One to the turbo pipe and one back down to th...

Air doser Hdi 90 delete?
Hi guys, So my hdi 90 has an air doser, I have already plugged the vacuum on the egr to disable this. Do you guys disable the air doser or is it a possibility? Looking at my bulkhead there are 2 EV, one which goes to the egr which is now bunged and the other looks like it goes to the air doser, woul...

Re: Battery for 2.2 HDI
Hi there, the threaded bars on the battery tie down should have enough thread to allow you to clamp this down without any issues.
Have a wee look at the clamps and you should be ok to tell if the threads go down far enough.
Hope this helps!

Re: Battery for 2.2 HDI
Just fitted a 096 to my hdi 90. Fits in ok length wise, unable to use the top battery box cover. Don’t mind though
cold spell just killed my previous battery which turned out to be in french... possibly the original battery from factory in 2001

Re: ? engine intermittant loss of power
Hi there, have you checked the maf (air flow meter) sensor? Could be worth unplugging it to see if the car drives normally. When plugged back in if the problem comes back... your maf could be on its way out.
Hope this helps mate.

PP2000 or MPPS for remap HDI tuning
Hi guys and girls.
I am looking to get an online remap from hdi tuning for my hdi 90.
I see they recommend the MPPS tool for this.
Is this the best option or PP2000.
I see a lot about PP2000 on this forum but maybe it’s just for diagnostic work and not ecu flash?
Thanks again,
Andrew

Re: Bad acceleration in low rpm
Hi there,
I would start at the air flow meter. These can give problems and lead the car to act like yours.
Unplug the air flow meter and take it for a drive, if this cures the issue you will simply need a new one.
Try to get an OEM as aftermarket cheap meters can just be as bad.
Hope this helps!!

Thank you very much for your reply! This helps a lot.
I’m considering adding an intercooler so this also helps the pipe layout for me.

Boost gauge install hdi 90
Hi guys,
Can someone clarify where to plumb a boost line into on the hdi90.
As this has no intercooler do I tap into the intake manifold or is there an easier option?
Would like to know what my turbo is doing...
Thanks in advance!

Re: Egr delete on hdi 90bhp
You are correct. Just block the end of the pipe - the EGR is vacuum controlled so without the vacuum pipe attached it cannot open... However, they have been known to jam slightly open ( due to deposits stuck in the valve ) so the blanking plate will eliminate this potential issue. Blanking plates a...

Re: Egr delete on hdi 90bhp
Yep, Just the same & no light as long as you leave the solenoid connected electrically. It's better to blank off using blanking plates, also clean out as much muck as you can from the inlet due to the egr  Hey diesel, sorry to sound stupid. Do I simply take the vacuum pipe off the egr and blo...
