Thanks! I don't understand about the transponder, why would I get a new one if it didn't do remote control? Does the non-blade parts of the key have more functions than simply remote locking?

Would all of this be the same with the older style Gen 1 Peugeot 406 keys? I have 1 key, I'm not sure if I have an alarm, but I do have remote locking that works, currently. I need a new key, easiest thing to do would buy a new blade and get over losing the remote locking function if I lose the orig...

I have this, which has been great until either the aux belt went and took the cam belt with it or a tool or something got into the belts and screwed everything up. It now doesn't start, might have bent pistons and all the associated damage but has great body work for its age and many other positives...

EDIT: Hang on, don't you need to change the fuel filter for a Mann filter? Or is does it run with no mods at all?
