Surely if you just un plug the lead to the solonoid the egr will not open anyway without the need to blank it off

Looks a good mod i did it on wifes MX5 import when cat went as thats 1992 car no probs with mot but how will it pass on say a 2002 diesel.

I used to run my 405 with a bosch pump on a combination of kero (out of heating oil tank) & cooking oil ran perfectly untill i went on hols let mate borrow car he ran it dry on oil (had slight oil leak) & it was foooked also ran astra td on cooking oil for ages no probs till wife filled up with unle...

tickover adjustment
hi does anyone know how to adjust the tickover on a d9 02 hdi 90 with siemens, it is always arround 1000 where all my other diesels have run about 750,

Mines the same park facing dowhill with 1/2 or less in tank gauge always shows 3/4 when i re start sumetimes it clears sometimes not untill i fill up i never go more than 600 mls before filling as i dont trust the guages.

This just happened on my daughters corsa i fitted both new cv joints £23+vat each from local motor factors easy job now brakes are sweet not worth the bodge job!

it seems like the fault weve had on me daughters corsa she nearly went into the back of someone, on inspection i found that the abs sensor ring was cracked, only 25 squid inc the joint

Yep thanks for that, mate called round with full set mine only go up to 50 last one i done was me old 405 i think it was 18 mm socket much easier.

Thanks i wouldnt have found the fan & thermister in a million yrs but have cleaned them & still dont seem to make any diff the htr pumps out hot air next min is gone to outdoor temp, my old motors without c/c just push out nice warm air depending on where dial is set, im thinking thermister could be...

Hi everyone my heater seems to have a mind of its own,set at 21 doesnt come on then blasts out hot air for a moment then cold then hot again ur either sweating or freezing, fan works as doed a/c where is cabin temp sensor as this may be damaged is it poss to clean maintain it. car is a 02 hdi 90 alan

This may be some help to others. Recently windows started to mist up realy bad had to have a/c on full & still didnt always work, stripped out cabin filter found to be totally blocked also plastic flap which lets air from outside jammed closed so a swift left jab now flap remains open new filter fit...

can anyone explain (appart from greedy robbing chancelor & oil companys) why diesel is so much more expensive than unleaded, when this was say 82ppl diesel was 85ppl now its 95 & 107 big difference as i think diesel is cheaper to refine as its still on oil rather than a spirit ?
