crap immobiliser

my wifes car has the key pad immobiliser, now the car was bought trade and the trader did not know the code so we have to faff with locking it and then starting it quickish else it won't bloddy start without repeatedly pressing the key fob.

is there a way of cutting out the immobilser?

the only things i can remeber doing is an oil pump change and service on a 306 xsi 8v and servicing the wifes 406
