Re: EML on when Idling?

My No 9 on there, in middle of the T is missing on mine, it has a blank on it.
It seems fine now, so maybe not the EGR valve, but think I will blank it when weather is warmer.

Re: EML on when Idling?

I put more petrol in with the veg and the light has not been back on since. So atm with every 40 ltrs veg I put in 6 ltrs of Petrol.
This week I've ran it on 100% Diesel with some Redex just incase something was beginning to block. Back on Veg today, and so far so good.

Re: EML on when Idling?

Still got this problem, when EML comes on I do get a diesel engine rattle more than normal.
Soon as I rev it a little, EML goes out and engine sounds normal again.
A mate plugged his computer in, but it wouldn't connect, so cant get any fault codes.

Just remembered I'm running on 3 glowplugs, 4th behind pump is seized and couldn't be taken out. Dont suppose that would bring on the EML on idle?
Anyone think it could just be the above?

EML on when Idling?

Seems every now and then when I am idling for over 5 mins the EML comes on, soon as a rev to 1k it goes out.
Anyone know what this could be? Everything else is fine with the car, no problems at all.

Fuel Cap Needed?

Had my MOT today, failed on a few things inc Fuel Cap. Previous owner lost the original and replaced it with a push in cap.
Anyone know if pug dealers are cheap enough or if the Halfords Universal Cap would fit?

Re: 1.9 Td white smoke

I dont suppose you are using Veg Oil as fuel? If so its normal as Veg burns with a white/grey smoke.

Re: Vegetable Oil advice needed

GeordieBoy: I've seen a lot of talk of using petrol as a thinner for SVO - I thought that petrol was a big "No No" in diesel - something to do with it rotting seals and/or other components - please can you clarify how this applies - does the SVO counteract the damaging effect of the petrol? The han...
