2.2HDi Particulate Filter (FAP) Live Data Readings . . .

After a long saga with my 2.2HDi 406 including communications problems with the ecu's and not being able to reset faults etc. I have finally bitten the bullet and bought a Diag2000. I have managed now to fix most problems and although the ecu can not be reset (pressumably a problem with the communic...

Re: 2.2HDi Particulate Differential Sensor Resistance Values

OK, really stuggling to get these voltages for testing. Anyone who has a 2.2 HDi engine with a FAP please let me know how much you want to read these values as I am starting to get desperate!

Re: 2.2HDi Particulate Differential Sensor Resistance Values

No secret, just sounds too simple but I can't at the moment (until I test the theory) see any reason why it wouldn't work! what I want to try to do is block the rear pressure outlet and split the front into two pipes and connect both to the sensor. I want to constrist the pipe that goes to the rear ...

Re: 2.2HDi Particulate Differential Sensor Resistance Values

Sorry, try that again with my message . . . . you will never be able to bypass the system that way, the exaust pressures are constantly changing with rpm, load, road speed etc.. throwing a variable resistor at it wont change a thing This is the exact point (I didn't mention fitting resistors!) I hav...

2.2HDi Particulate Differential Sensor Resistance Values

I have had a brain wave on how to bypass the differential pressure sensor on the 2.2HDi engines, I am desperatley seeking the resistance values of the differential pressure sensor for the particulate filter on a 2.2 HDi engine. My idea is incredibly simple and I can't believe how long it has taken m...

Re: VCT Solonoid 2.2 HDI - 2000

If I haven't got one that may explain why I can't find it.

Doesn't explain why it keeps telling me the circuit for it is knackered and my timings over retarded though

Re: VCT Solonoid 2.2 HDI - 2000

Many thanks, unfortunatley it's not one of those, it's on the engine somewhere and uses a combination of oil pressure and an electronic solonoid to vary the timing, can't find a picture of it anywhere though, I'm looking through my parts catalogue but also can't find it . . .

VCT Solonoid 2.2 HDI - 2000

Hi, can anyone tell me where the VCT Solonoid is on a 2.2 HDi, I am getting both ODB errors P0020 & P0022 which would suggest to me the wiring on this is suspect rather than the solonoid itself. Would help if I could find it to check though!

Re: 2.2 HDi faulty Bosch ECU?

hmmm, may have solved the mystery (maybe not but hey) have finally dug out my ECU and on the first pin towards the hinged end the plastic bit on the plug end was damaged and folded over the connection so it's possible this pin wasn't connected, have cleaned it up and will take it back in for a clear...

2.2 HDi faulty Bosch ECU?

Good morning, I have had a long standing saga with my 2.2 HDi with problem after problem which have just seemed to be unsolveable. Finally found a really good Pug mechanic with the full on Diag 2000 kit who had a look at clearing my ECU down for me. To his surprise I had many many perminent errors (...

Fairly geeky OBD 2.2 HDi Question

Hi, I want to access the particulate fluid ECU on my car to read and clear down DTC's contained within it so I can do this as I go along looking at things for problem diagnosis. I have a fairly (or very) technical question. Does any one know if the Particulate filter ECU be accessed in the same way ...

Re: Bosch ECU - Reprogramme To Ignore Faults?

I'll take that as a no to the question then jameslxdt, jeeezzzus just wondering if it was something anyone knew was or wasn't possible, wasn't expecting the high horse brigade !!!!! May become a mute point now as I have had some info that may solve the problems once and for all (although nothing has...

Re: 2.2 HDi, aaarrrggghhh, please help

Hi, have got some info that makes everything a bit clearer, the Particulate filter ECU the garage referred to is apparently the fluid ECU, I was told by the garage that I was showing an error that my fluid cap was missing that will not clear no matter what they do. Some one has pointed out that this...
