Re: A/C fan stops working for short time

Most of the time Service Box says (said :frown: ) control box "where fitted". I think the later blower fans are PCM via an amplifier, I could be wrong of course... Remove glovebox, look for the fan, there should be 2 huge wires going to it, look for the connectors. If they're fine leave the glovebox...

Re: A/C fan stops working for short time

I'm not sure the 406's have a fan "resistor" pack like that... I'd say something's getting warm but it's the heater, so everything is getting warm! We did have a few burned out fan connectors, maybe these would be worth looking at.

Re: Vibration Under Braking

Which one is front coil springs where does it locate pls with pictures if possible He means the suspension spring, they have a habit of breaking (all cars, not just 406's) I think you've changed pretty much everything! I'm still not sure how you know it's the left-hand side though, the best...

Re: Engine type

110 is RHZ. It won't make any difference to the power delivery at 3,200rpm, that's mapping. I presume you've seen this viewtopic.php?f=10&t=12408&p=110233&hilit=noisy#p110233

Re: Radiator hose retaining clip

As far as I remember the bottom hose on my HDi used one of them, both the Hayneses (D8 & 9) have the same pictures and blurb. I couldn't say if it would be the same size, so I don't know if the size is common but they are used on other radiators. It must be worth a look at your friendly local breake...

I'm seeing scuff marks on the sump, is something bent? Or maybe it's been dangling about for so long the plastic is distorted :?

Re: rear door wont open

I'm afraid it looks like you're going to have to get the door card off and attack the lock with a hammer :( https://www.406oc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=25051&p=250768&hilit=door+won%27t+open#p250768 It might be worth a try soaking the lock itself in WD once you get the door card off, maybe giving i...

Re: Suez Canal needs a good dyno-rodding.

I read somewhere it did happen before, a smaller (Japanese?) ship suffered mechanical failure and grounded, it didn't take them long to shift it. This one's massive though. Maybe they'll be able to dredge enough rubbish out the way, if they don't they're going to have to unload it, er, somehow. Ship...

Suez Canal needs a good dyno-rodding.

I think this might conceivably not end up on the BBC coverage of this event... OH NO: misfortune's unerring aim touched #EVERGIVEN's track as it departed the designated anchorage and steamed into the Canal. (innocent, but terrible luck) Possibly my first (and last) ever Twit ter link https://i.imgur...

Re: I can haz a new Car and a free.......

FFS what can you eat now? I know what you mean, e.g. for years I was told eggs were a total no no, now they seem to qualify as a health food :? I think the answer is anything in moderation. Obviously avoid processed stuff, anything of questionable origin (no more burgers for you), anything stuffed ...

Re: Does anyone have SEDRE running in Windows 10?

I had a similar problem when I was trying to run the Citroen off of disk images, even if I remembered to load them I got an error. I have found 1 problem with the keygen, it turns out Java didn't have enough permissions, so I gave it everything and now the 32 bit doesn't crash all the time. It still...

I'm wondering if these are actually in the Service Box back-up repair manual. I never found much of anything that was useful in there mind.

Re: Does anyone have SEDRE running in Windows 10?

I have seen that it needs some sort of container (Windows Xp or 7 I guess) but it looks like they've scrapped that. I have actually seen people saying they have it running on Win10, so I'd like to try that first. Unfortunately I'm still stuck at the first hurdle, I can't get the keygen to work, java...
