Re: Range on a full tank of fuel (hdi engine)
The 406 tank is much bigger than the 407s. I wondered why. Until i found this quote from TG magazine (The people who hate 406s and all peugeots) . "Much like the 308, the evolution of the 406 into the Peugeot 407 seems to be more about aesthetics than anything else" here in OZ we go with litres and...

Re: HDi Hunting from cold start
My 406StDT did the same thing after the battery went flat overnight. Consensus was the HP Pump and was told it would be $5000 to repair, however, I took it to a really good Peugeot tech and he diagnosed it as faulty Coolant temp sensor. He reset the codes and it was fixed. Replaced the sensor and it...

Re: couple of 406 issues
Can happen if the spade connectors start getting corroded and exhibit high internal resistance.I still worry about it to this day, the electrical system really shouldn't burn itself out....should it?!
The heat that gets generated is enough to melt any plastic etc nearby.

Re: EGR valve info needed
EGR valve on 2.0 HDI is at the rear of the enginetoward the passenger compartment The 2.1 TDI engine that Andre has is nothing like the HDi engine. I have one also, but it's so crowded back there, I haven't got the foggiest idea where it is. I suspect that it's very difficult to get to even if you ...

Re: 406 110 hdi - limp mode - can't clear codes - Please help
The only thing i can think of that happened, was when i was changing the MAF sensor (In the garage) it started rainning very hard, not sure if the connector got shorted out or something (when i got back in car also noticed i must have left the bloody ignition on). everything else was all covered wi...

Re: missing pug!!
Every time I see the thread title I'm expecting to read that one's been stolen. That's 4 much time on the 4X4 forums where vehicles are nocked to order...  Reminds me of a friend who after having had the engine stolen from his VW (very easy to do) called the police to report his VW eng...

Re: High idle followed by Engine management light!
Had the same fault on my 2.1TD.
Turned out to be a faulty coolant sensor.
Engineer reset the fault codes and all back to normal, but got pretty bad before it was fixed.
Cheers..Z

Re: HDi Throttle Response - laggy lift off
Is this just a characteristic of the HDis? Some sort of pollution control perhaps (EGR)? Hi, A bit of throttle lag is pretty normal for all diesels, cause they don't have a throttle butterfly as such. The sort of lag you're describing doesn't sound too bad either and you generally get accustomed to...

Re: 2.1 TD GLX VERY erratic idle???
As I said, I don't know its exact whereabouts, but I'll try to find out. The behaviour you see when you touch the brakes is normal and is telling you that the ECU is still controlling OK. Because the thing is a "fly by wire" throttle...that is, there is no physical connection between the fuel comman...

Re: 2.1 TD GLX VERY erratic idle???
Where is this sensor? Can it be disconnected for test purposes? Cheers Sorry Biggles, I can't tell you that, but I was told that you shouldn't disconnect it and in any case, disconnecting it doesn't fix the problem. The only way is to actually clear the codes and reset the ECU. Mine was a different...

Re: 2.1 TD GLX VERY erratic idle???
I forgot to mention if I disconnect the throttle potentiometer. it runs as smooth as you like at idle. This makes me think it is not the pump. Also it has just had a replacement pump and was working fine. The replacement pump is displaying the same traits, but has only done about 500 miles or less ...

Re: Stuck Turbo Wastegate? 2.1 TD Diesel
sounds like the pump unfortunatley  Just to let everyone who mught have a similar problem know; Well I had it checked by the local Pug specialist here EuroCare and they identified the problem from the fault code which pointed to a faulty temp sensor. (shoulda guessed, since there have been pos...

Re: How can i make my HDI 110 more economical
Running a V6 and managing to drink £65 of fuel last week alone (how - I live 1.5 miles form work!!!) I wonder if an LPG conversion would make economic sense. If the running costs are halved it could pay for itself in just over a year [/quote] LPG would be great for your instance but in HD110...

Re: How can i make my HDI 110 more economical
LPG on a standard car will ultimately cost you about the same while having to contend with the loss of boot space care of the extra tank. Not necessarily, you can get a toriodal tank to go in the spare wheel well. This does mean loosing your spare wheel and carrying a can of tyre sealer of course, ...
