Re: Stop light when i unlock car, and brake fault
I have never had this type of trouble on a peugeot but on a vectra i owned in the past i had all sorts of weird things happening and it turned out to be a bad earth. I have no idea where they are on a 406 but it may be worth checking all that you can find.

Re: Cam belt tension
s.e.e.m is an acronym for something ,possibly in french, but it checks the tension of the belt by measuring sound waves when the belt is 'twanged'. I have looked all over for one to no avail. As i have been quoted over £600 by the main agent to do the job ,which is nearly half the value of the whole...

Cam belt tension
I will shortly be changing the cam belt on my 51 reg hdi 90. I have changed cam belts before on the old xud engines but i am told that on the hdi i need a special guage called a "seem guage" to set the tension correctly. Does anyone know if this is true and where i might be able to get one?

Now i cant use the radio without the ignition switched on and it keeps losing the presets. Anyone any idea how i switch out of econ...

Front suspension
I have recently aquired a 51 reg estate hdi 90. I need to change both front suspension bottom ball joints, the ones that screw into the bottom of the strut. I understand i need a special tool. Has any one ever done this job and if so is it reasonably straightforward? And is it easy to get hold of th...

Re: New member (what have i done??!!)
Next question- a friend has access to a fault code reader so we slapped it on to find out why the air bag light is on. It came up with 3 faults 2 of which were wiring related which we cleared. 1 wouldnt clear though." 0A01 Driver Module Trigger". Anyone any ideas about what this might be? Please no ...

Re: New member (what have i done??!!)
its done 134000 and i paid £1300. One other thing i forgot to mention is that the drivers window doesnt work but the most important things for me to do are the ball joints. According to my newly aquired haynes manual a special tool is needed to undo them from the bottom of the strut. Can I get away ...
