You'll have to crawl under the thing and look up from behind the engine. I'm thinking you will see a dirty great hole in the flexi. Cost wise I don't know but run it down to an exhaust place for an idea? Actually I'm assuming it's got a flexi? most have :oops: two lads recon its coming from above t...

presuming it didn't do it before and it's a loud whistle, i'd guess at an air leak. Get a smoker to blow some smoke round the area under strong light and have a look. Ghetto diagnostics man :) when we hold the rag over the exaust we can smell the fumes from the exaust coming up from behind the engi...

Dturbo 1.9 whistling

my dads car is whistling like mad the turbo spools up ok. the whistle tends to go when you hit a certain speed. we have had a rag over the exaust and it whistles like mad. it sounds like its coming from the turbo area, what could be the fault?

Most Scoobies are not that quick really. Once the power has gone through that 4WD system the the wheel horse power is comparable to other 200 BHP FWD cars. i think anything to do with the name austin is rare. the last of them i sure were made on a J plate so that car must have been reregistered must have came from ireland.
another car that is rare now are the ford sierras and the vaux hall nova saloon and rover metros.
