Just had one of my rears pop the circlip and roller out due to lack of lube.
stripped it out and carried out a refit and re-grease. All okay :-)

Re: 406 2000 90bhp clutch cost
I had a clutch done on an HDI 90 2.0 Estate at 125k with the lower engine mount done for £400 incl. VAT from my local garage. That included a full drain and re-fill.

406 HDI 90 D9 - It start then stops then starts
All of a sudden my car has decided to stop 30 seconds after first starting it.
A restart see this cured but it is now becoming tedious.
Is this a heater plug post start timing issue, the relay or the BSI?
Thoughts appreciated.
Car runs perfectly once it stays started the second time.

Re: Strut Top Bearings
When I did my springs on my D9 the top strut bearings disintegrated when the leg/ spring was removed so never seen this myself. However from the state of my old one I can see how they would be totally shot.

Re: CD to speaker connectors
Bumpy West Yorkshire roads mean it cuts in and out alot. All okay stationary or on a decent piece of road.
The car is a D9 HDI 90 estate so yes boot mounted CD player. I thought the head may be jumping as the cd player looks real cheap, it could be both but not easy to tell.

Re: That damn check engine light!!!!
I have the same software and same hardware. My light was extingushed by resetting it but the fault had also gone away. My fault was a sticky throttle pot which cleared itself.
What is the error you are resetting?

I paid £400 for the complete clutch and a lower engine mount from my local garage
It was well worth the money.

for the reader.
YOu will need a USB to serial converter with the model I bought. If you get a USB version of the ELM 327 forget the converter.

Re: Code Reader!
Well that is a good question.
I know the throttle pots do wear out and there is every chance at 127k that mine is long overdue a new one.
Will give it a month or so as the speed rises and lowers quite well after giving the pot a couple of full swipes with the accelerator pedal.

Code Reader!
Just reset the annoying engine management light on my 406 D9 HDI 90. It was a throttle pot sensor that had registered when the throttle pot got sticky a month ago. The ELM 327 from ebay worked straight out of the box only needed a usb to serial converter cable and away it went. Was able to read and ...
