Re: Dash display??

Thanks Steve. I checked the oil and other levels straight away but the oil level is fine, its only just below the max line. Just been out and checked it again and its on 6 squares again. If its dropped really slightly say because of a tiny leak would that cause the guage to fluctuate. Its just that ...

Dash display??

Can anyone tell me what the squares on the dash mean? Before I start the car there are normally about 6 squares from min to max at the bottom of the display but today I noticed only 3. There is also a picture of something with a drip falling off it. Looks like its reading one of the fluid levels but...

Re: Suspension a bit firm?

I've had the suspension checked out and its all ok. Yes Durham, I looked at the tyre pressures again because on the drivers door pillar it says they should be 2.5 barr, thats about 36 psi all round and thats what I had them inflated them to. Yeah I know, thats high but thats what Peugeot recommend! ...

Re: Suspension a bit firm?

Your probably right Steve

I did wonder whether someone might have 'meddled' with it.

I'm gonna get it checked out and take it from there then. If it turns out to be something silly i'll let you know

Re: Suspension a bit firm?

Thanks Guys. There is a 'rattle' when going over bumps but im not sure if this is the splash guard thing because the fixings for these dont seem to do a great job. I have just been out and changed the tyre pressures to 2.4 bar instead of 2.5 and that has made a slight difference. I think I will have...

Re: Suspension a bit firm?

Hi Dairees The car is a saloon and an S model, not sure if Peugeot stiffened things up from the LX because its got the chrome tail pipe leather steering wheel and alloys. The tyres are 205 55 16s. Peugeot adjusted the geometry and said its virtually spot on. After I had the tyres fitted I checked th...

Suspension a bit firm?

Can any tell me if Peugeot fit the same suspension on all 406s. I have a 53 plate HDI 110 s (75,000 miles) and I feel every bump in the road. On the motorway I feel the constant rumble of the tarmac and its twitchy. The car is only smooth on the very smootest of surfaces. I don't drive the car hard ...

Re: HDi Poor MPG (33 - 35mpg)

My 110 averages 47mpg according to the trip computer over the last 4000 miles but if I boot it that comes down to about 33. Cause I do quite a lot of long runs I thought I would give Jeremy Clarkson a run for his money. (remember that Audi) Filled it up and stuck to the speed limits with gentle acce...

Re: Squeaky seats

I'll try some locknut.

Dint know you could get nylon/rubber lubricant. Would you get that from Halfords or somewhere like that?

Not noticed the doors. Youve started me off again now. haha

Squeaky seats

Working through the minor faults on my 53 plate 406 HDi, i'm now on the seats. They squeaked like a bitch when I moved my legs to operate the pedals, drove me nuts so I checked the bolts and they were all a bit loose, especially the two on the rear of the seat. The front passenger seat was the same ...

406 HDI 110 Rust / bubbling on front of bonnet?

Hi Was wandering if anyone else has had this problem. I have a 53 plate 406 HDI that I bought about a month ago. Yeah I know I shouldn't of bought it with bubbling on the front of the bonnet but I needed a car and the rest of it was tidy. Other than that i'm well impressed with it. I have checked wi...
