Re: Aircon compressor ticking at idle-can I ignore?

Or off to kwik fat(yes they are cowboys), but price £44 for a regas and lubricant. Im thinking that getting it regassed and lubed now, may just sufficeiently grease up the bearings before it goes too far... Your thoughts on damage limitation now that it has occured.. Bearing in mind the ticking is o...

Aircon compressor ticking at idle-can I ignore?

Drove 300 miles to Newquay. Traced a new ticking noise to behind the drivers wheel. Lifted bonnet, sound drowned out by engine noise. Dropped bonnet. Got under car. Noise is from large cylindrical item, running at the base of the auxilary belt. Air con pipes running to it. I presume this is the Airc...

Speedo electrical fault

Hi As I drive along in fifth gear at 70 on the m-way, suddenly the speedometer drops out and goes to zero, and I have no idea what speed I am then doing. This will last for about two mins, then it will all kick back in again and the speedo will then "pick up" and revert back to the speed currently b...

Re: Coolant Loss expansion tank 406 HDi Help

Puggy. Mine is wet on the top a/c pipe as in your picture. Although I had a soaked stream from this pipe join where it is wet as your pic, the stream was excessive and all over the air filter housing pipe leading from the front grille. It was very wet and excessive, so if coolant does also run in th...

Re: Coolant Loss expansion tank 406 HDi Help

Right Changed expansion tank cap too. Still losing water I have noticed air bubbles and a leak over some steel piping on the right hand side of the engine. The leak has run out all over the air filter air pipe that runs from the front of the car to channel air into the airbox. This is aircon related...

Re: Coolant Loss expansion tank 406 HDi Help

Yes I went for it. No results as yet. Heres a comparison of interest. http://www.kseal.co.uk "K Seal or Seal up" (Seal up is like another version of Radweld-will gunk up) What is the difference between Seal-Up and K-Seal? Seal-Up is the original cooling system formula and is based on Sodium Silicate...

Re: Coolant Loss expansion tank 406 HDi Help

Got this email reply today from K Seal lot.. Dear Colin, Thank you for your enquiry. K-Seal is safe to use with all water cooled engines. It has been available in the UK since 2003 and to date well over 300,000 bottles have been sold to the trade and public without any problems. In 2006 The AA intro...

Re: Coolant Loss expansion tank 406 HDi Help

Had the garage put in some UV ligtable fluid in the expansion tank last week. They took it back in yesterday, flashed the UV light around the whole engine bay. Proving leaks under UV were working, there was evidence of an old fluid leak from the aircon pipe.. BUT..We can not get to the bottom of whe...

Straight, true, no wheel wobble, no suspension clonks or bangs. Everything runs good. Just the one problem..... After 60 to 70 miles driving the top ...
