Re: 2.2 Exec estate, New particulate filter?

I would personal not take it to the peugeot garage as they charge a fortune. The cambelt was done at 78,000 Regards Jo...

Re: 2.2 Exec estate, New particulate filter?
hmmm i was thinking 1500 max too as its also coming up very soon for a cambelt change. im all up for a bit of elbow grease but i may be tempted to just find another 2.0 hdi and get a remap as no fap system to worry about. first time i messaged him i got a short reply, when asking specifics he has no...

Re: Engine cut out :(
right tomorow is the day. Its either going to work or be broken. Bit annoyed that the garage allowed the brand new battery to become immensely flat.

Re: Engine cut out :(
well my cousin bought and fitted a new pump in the tank when it first went wrong. Although both garages have said whoever fitted this lift pump forgot to fit a seal?

Re: Engine cut out :(
v reg 00, phase 2/face lift. The car has a brand new lift pump but still no improvement, frankley i dont believe their theory of the iron filling blocking the injectors, because sometimes it will run for ten minutes, if the injectors were blocked thats that, i cant see them clearing themselves. May ...

Re: Engine cut out :(
reviving this old thread. it has a new tank lift pump. its been at another garage for the last 2 months and theyve come back with the same iron filling theory. looks like ill be breaking it for parts, honestly is it worth it, it is the 406 executive estate with climate control and heated, electric l...

Re: Engine cut out :(
Going to try and fix this myself then sell the car on as its sat on the drive dead at the mo. start with the low pressure system, tehn the high pressure system and then the control side, think thats the sensible thing to do

Re: Engine cut out :(
this is what im thinking, the mechanics arent actually engaging their brains, so frustrating. gonna try and get the car back on the drive and get a family friend who worked at peugeot for 20 years to check it out as that garage is sounding more useless by the day. Would be quite a feat to get filing...

Re: Engine cut out :(
the car is still at the garage so i dont know about fault codes. garage has a new theory, apparently what commonly happens when the lift pump goes is that it breaks down and spews out loads of iron filings before it gives up (lots of wear),m this fills the fuel tank and gets sucked up and goes round...

Re: Engine cut out :(
another update, the lift pump was changed and it seemed to cure the fault for all of half an hour, took it too the garage and was informed number 2 injector pipe was leaking which i was told was giving a drop in pressure in the system, the high pressure pump was trying to compensat and then hit an o...

Re: Engine cut out :(
majority of forum info is from experience so its all good. The pump was changed with about a third of a tank so atleast 20 litres fuel. Fuel filter wasnt changed.
