Re: 406 Heater blower experts needed....
Today the N-channel FET transistor arrived. Cost £3.50. I applied heat conductive grease and fixed it with the clip. I soldered it with a hot iron to be sure the solder flowed well and made good connection. I used an IRFP064N Transistor N-FET 55V 98A TO-218 if someone else wants to make this stunt. ...

Re: 406 Heater blower experts needed....
Hi Jasper5 As I said I was wrong on assuming that the blower had 12V supply when the engine was stopped. Once I tested with the engine running the situation was as described in the above post. Thanks for the info on control module removal, First I did not bow deep enough to see the small screw. I un...

Re: 406 Heater blower experts needed....
Hi again, I read from the last post here that the control module 12V supply is only live when the engine is running. I thought it was live when the ignition was on, thoutght I've normally heard the blower run when when the engine was stopped too... Anyway there is 12V to the control module and furth...

Re: 406 Heater blower experts needed....
I tried to inject 12V to the grey thick wire at the 'red arrow' connector. All I heard was a tiny click from a small relay somewhere. The blower didn't turn. Just to confirm what I already knew I unscrewed the blower motor and tested it. It turned nicely from 12V direct :-) I still want to know abou...

Re: 406 Heater blower experts needed....
OK I will feed the blower via a fused link to the grey wire at the red arrow connector. There was no strange behaviour as of the blower before it fell asleep. Can anyone confirm that my wiring diagram is wrong when it displays the ignition switch in front of the 40A switch and not behind it? (Curren...

Re: 406 Heater blower experts needed....
There are thick red wires which are the main 12V supply to the blower control module. As long as there is no voltage in these wires the blower cannot work. I need to get this supply voltage up first. If the blower doesn't run with supply voltage to the control module I can start checking the module ...

Re: 406 Heater blower experts needed....
Hi and thanks for the reply :-) However according to the wiring diagram, the 12V supply passes first the ignition barrel, then to the 40A fuse. I have 12V voltage at the fuse so the ignition barrel must be good. Don't you agree? Do you know where the wire from the 40A fuse goes before it connects to...

406 Heater blower experts needed....
Hi, My 2004 406 (90HP HDI station wagon) heater blower suddenly refused to start. The 40A amp fuse is ok and there is 12V in and out of it. According to the cable diagram there is a thick grey wire from the 40A fuse to a connector near the blower where it continues as a red wire. Take a look at my b...

Haynes book for 2004 diesel 406...?
Hi,
When browsing ebay.co.uk I only find Haynes repair / service books for 406 up to 2002. I have a 2.0 HDi diesel 2004 model. Does it exist a Haynes book for these newer models too...?
regards Tor

106 differences...
Hi,
Sorry for popping in about a 106 here, but I did not find a crowded forum for 106 owners.
Anyone here who knows which differences (in specs / 'features') between a '97 and '98 106 1,1 litre petrol?
Thanks for comments or links
regards Tor

Signal horn position...
Hi,
My 2004 406 station wagon signal horn has been silent for some weeks.
Tonight I opened the hood to check if there were a loose connection or a bad fuse. But I wasn't even able to locate the signal horn :-|
Where do I find it in my model?
Thanks a lot for a quick reply on this

Use steel rim bolts with alloy rims...?
Hi, I just purchased a set of nice Pug genuine alloy rims for my Pug 406 2004. I notice that my steel wheel bolts have coned bolt faces but apparently the alloy rims require bolts with almost flat face. Does it exist washers with inner cone so I can use my coned wheel bolts with the alloy rims...? I...

Cleaning door lock
Hi, Both my front door locks (406 station wagon '04) are more or less refusing to take the 'manual' 2nd key. Instead of unlocking, the key just turns around without resistance. My shop says that the lock must be professionaly cleaned with some fluid and then dried with compressed air. They refuse to...

Re: Chassis number 'decoder' and GPS antenna
Anyone knowing if a '04 406 station wagon despite lack of fitted navigation has a gps antenna (in the windscreen) with cable to use with a non-original gps unit?
If yes, where do I find (the plug end of ) the cable...?
Thanks for any hints on this issue
