did try to pm you but youve not got your pm thing on

seems to me youve done most of the diagnostics already, get a compression tester and check that, if it seems down on cylinder 4 then check the rocker under the cam for that cylinder, if thats ok then its gonna be somthing like rings or valve stem i wold have thought.

well there you are gary 50k, but i'd be checking that alternator pully often, ive only managed to save one from snaping its belt (caught it just in time) but still had to have a new pully and a fan belt
