Car doesn't lock and get all kind of wrong Alarms
Hi, this morning my neighbour rang the door and told me that the hazard warning lights at my car were on. As I hadn't used the car for two days I went down to check it out. It seems the car wasn't locked. When I tried to lock it it locked, but also immediately unlocked the car again. There was no wa...

Re: Break needs work - Recommendations for Break Pads / Discs?
Hello, my brakes have been getting a bit strange lately, and I believe I might need a new Break Cylinder. It's a 2002 HDI (90). The brakes have been a bit strange since I got the car, but the (Peugeot) dealer told me it will probably the Break Cylinder. They cleaned it, and it seemed to happen less...

Re: 406 HDI (90) not starting ... not turning over at all!
I just picked the car up from the local Peugeot dealer. It was indeed the Starter Motor that had to be replaced. Finding the problem, new starter motor and fitting it cost me 280 GBP altogether at the main dealership. Dealer told me that a good mechanic would have had no problem getting it to work i...

How is the spare wheel usually secured?
Hi, recently I heard some knocking noise from the Boot of my 406 (2002) when I for example went over a speedbumper or something similiar and yesterday finally got the chance to have a look at it. It seems my spare wheel is lying more or less unfixed in the hole in the boot, and therefore "jumping ar...

Adding Armrest to 2002 406 - Recommendation?
Hi,
we will go to the south of France in June, and I am currently considering fitting a new centre Armrest. I had one in my previous car, and really miss to have one while cruising on the motorways.
Anyone done that, or anny recommendation on which one to get?
Cheers,
DSAB

406 HDI (90bhp) remap - any recommendations in NI?
Hi,
I am currently playing with the thought of getting my 406 HDI (90bhp) remapped. Does anyone have a recommendation on where to get it done in Northern Ireland?
Also, anyone done it and has a rough estimate on the price and the time involved to get it done?
Regards,
DubDani

Driving to Mainland Europe - Headlights
Hi, I will be driving to germany and France in a few weeks and am currently looking into the method of adjusting my headlights so that I won't blind all the continental drivers. Unfortunately I can't find any Infos on how to do that for the 406 (2002). For my old car (non pug) I had some stickers th...

406 HDI (90bhp) slow/not properly pulling away when cold...
Hi, for a few weeks now I have had the problem that my car really doesn't wanna pull away when the motor is cold. It's a 2004 406 HDI (90bhp) with around 128k miles on the clock. It starts without problem, and when you start it it just runs fine (i.e. motor doesn't run on low revs when cold, or stut...
