Its done 187k now, never broke down once, and still goes strong, ok it gets serviced every 10k and its only ever driven by me and i never go past 3000 rpm (dont have to as i got it remapped when i bought it - best £165 ever s...

Its sorted now, was a bent linkage, oh and the original problem of the noise was a collapsed bearing in the o/s/f shaft!! - so did not need the box after all!! oh well

it does seem a lot harder to reproduce the fault when the car has no load - ie when driving the car on the ramp it is almost impossible to produce the fault. It can be sometimes possible to reproduce the fault if you are moving along dip the clutch and rev it past 2000 rpm you can still hear it slig...

well in the last two months it has intermittantly started making a graunching rotational sound when you go above 2000 revs. Noise goes if you dip clutch. I have no bearing noises or problems with changing gear. I do however have problems with clutches juddering after 40k, but i put this down to the ...

Well my 406 hdi 90 is developing clutch judder after 40k when a new clutch was replaced, as this is the 3rd clutch in 120k miles due to judder i am asuming the problem is the fly wheel, but it seems they are a whopping £218 from peugeot and my local factors only list the 110bhp. You may or may not remember that i have had an on going problem with loss of power and holding back, took car to numerous so called bosch agents, who replaced mass meter, solenoid valves, temp sensor, which needless to say cost me £200 and still never sorted. Y reg 2001 hdi 90 bhp remapped to 120bhp Owned since 2004 bought at 30k miles. Now done 149k miles. Yes mine done that. Kept comming up engine temp too high and guage unit in red. Fault was engine coolent temp sensor located just under the air-filter box trunking, in thermo housing. It has a green connector and easy to fit and only cost £9 for the part from peugeot.

A tip here i go through loads of these clips and stumps, and they are a great deal cheaper from citroen than peugeot!!
