Re: Radio Problems!

I also get this problem - I even installed an in-line booster and it made no difference. I get terrible reception, for example talksport on AM is very faint and hard to hear, most the time i can only get radio 1 (or not as often 2-4) and local stations at at decent quality. This isnt down to where I...

Re: ABS Fault

Well i think ive found the problem (though i haven't fixed it yet) and it turns out to be mechanical... My front passenger abs ring was broken into two pieces, had slid of its mount into the back of disc and all bent. I've pulled it off for now, hopefully once i buy the new part of ebay (the dealers...

Re: ABS Fault

thanks to the replys. I haven't got a fault code reader, but as my car is a 2002 HDI90 im guessing its going to cost me well over £100 of ebay, which might be a worthwhile investment as my car is getting older. I might live with the fault for a bit as it would be good to narrow down the problem to s...

ABS Fault

Hello! My previously battered and bruised 406 is still going strong(ish) after it was written off but while the body work is all fixed electrical gremlins are creeping in. Apart from an 'engine coolant temperature to high' fault which pops up now and again (has done for years but which is getting mo...

Re: Can this be repaired? crash damage

the salvage value was about £240ish i think, so about 10% of the cars value.

I really thought they would low ball me but i cant find an example of another car which is selling for the same amount.

Im guessing it will affect the resale value but the plan is to keep it for many more years to come!

Re: Can this be repaired? crash damage

Hi All, Thought i would give you an update... ... well my car was written off as a Cat C but.... I've procured a second hand bumper and rear light which I've fitted (bumper needs a respray to the correct silver) for £40 which has made a huge improvement to the cars overall appearance. Its not an urg...

Re: Can this be repaired? crash damage

the rear panel damage has created a gap along the boot and has 'rippled' up to the fuel flap and mid wheel arch. the pillar has not been affected nor the rear door.

Re: Can this be repaired? crash damage

quite possibly but its the rear panel from the first knock which will be the most costly to fix... how do you replace it?

Can this be repaired? crash damage

Hi All, I think my 406 may have met its end, I was rear ended last week which has damaged my rear bumper, rear light cluster and rear wing. To make matters worst today my neighbour backed into my car scraping down the drivers door which will also need to be replaced. I'm not sure how the insurance c...

Re: windscreen wipers going crazy

well just got off the phone with another dealer who was reasonably helpful. he suggested that its probably a central control issue, and could be damp in the bsi. I'm going to have a go getting the carpet in the drivers side up to check the wiring, I've a quick look and it seems the carpet is not des...

Re: windscreen wipers going crazy

i think an expensive trip to the dealers in in order.

spoke to them on the phone and it could be anything, though they said it could be a trapped wire in the indicator stalk

will let you know the outcome

Re: windscreen wipers going crazy

Yes i do have auto wipers but at the same time the washer jets are on full blast which is very odd. The jets still continue to go even when all the washer fluid has gone. I have full control over the wipers speed.... except off. searching though the forums could faulty relays cause this problem, or ...
