Good-bye Pug :(

Well if all goes to plan tomorrow i'm leaving the 406 owners club. Its all happened very fast in the last few days but I felt my car was getting a bit long in the tooth and though it might have run for another few years, my dad buying a new car recently sparked my interest in new cars. So I decided ...

Re: ABS and break 'bumping'

Mine has one on each side (the near side is the one that's broken) on the front wheels - I've not checked out the back.

Sounds like your drivers side one snapped and has fallen off to me

1.8 Standing Quarter

I know our pugs are hardly performance machines, but I'm trying to compare my 1.8 LX to some motorbikes and bikes annoyingly don't tend to publish 0-60 times but instead use standing quarter times.

So anyone any idea on a stock 1.8 petrol 406 on a standing quarter?

Re: ABS and break 'bumping'

Its got some minor problems with one of the door locks, the aircon is knackered and I get intermittent anti-pollution faults every so often that don't seem to do anything. It wouldn't be too expensive to get a new ring but I'm trying to save up money for a motorbike at the moment (to run as well as ...

Re: ABS and break 'bumping'

Re: ABS and break 'bumping'

ABS and break 'bumping'

I have an intermittent and long standing issue with my ABS system. It seems that sometimes when I travel over or around 60 for more than a few mins the ABS system will fail with a visual indicaton on the dash and a beeping. When this happens I have confirmed the ABS is not working with breaking test...

Exhaust and Tappets

Two new problems today. Firstly I can hear the tappets ticking under my bonnet and wondered roughly how much a garage would charge to adjust these? Secondly there is an inch long gash in my exhaust system just in front of (towards the front of the car) the rear expansion chamber where the pipe meets...

Exterior front door handles

I have a problem with my front passenger door. Its had an intermittent fault for a while where it will not open with the central locking or where it will not lock and the central locking will do the 'lock/open' thing as if a door was open. Today my dad replaced the locks (both doors and the boot) wh...

Rear near-side electric window

My back window is broken :(

I have stripped it down a little to test the switch circuitry and determined it must be the motor that is faulty.

Sooo... does anyone know where i can get a motor and generally how much it will cost me?

Re: Knocking

Well I took the wheel off today and couldn't see anything obvious. I was with my dad and my uncle who used to be a car mechanic, we got it to knock but can't pin point where it is - even laying under it and useing the old metal pole to the ear. Its definatly the suspension system though and the rear...

Re: Daskboard lights

I havnt tried taking it off yet, but I went into halfords and asked about the bulbs and they said they didn't do them for a 406.

Where should I be looking to get these bulbs?
