Urgent - Selling in 1 hour - advice
If the buyer has no proof of ID and says he is a traveller with no fixed address would you take cash for your car?
I sold a Granada 10 yrs ago to someone I vaguely knew and had the police round no end of times as it was used in a robbery, they thought I was involved.
That's why I'm suspicious.

406 Exec Estate W reg
Unfortunately my beloved Executive Estate is for sale, we're emigrating. I've had it for about 4 years now and both my wife and I will be genuinely sorry to see it go. Luxury motoring in an affordable package. I've had 5 jaguars in my time and this was right up there for spec and comfort but much mo...

Re: Anyone else had 999.9 mpg from a 3L V6
Going to try a soft reset as found on another forum tomorrow, then change plugs with an inlet manifold gasket (is this dry ?) Soft reset From hereon in the soft boot procedure will be described as the '3 Minute Rule' PROCEDURE FOR BATTERY DIS-CONNECTION (The 3 Minute Rule) Whenever a vehicle battery...

I'm getting 999.9 mpg all the time, even accelerating. I realise this is a fault just don't know what is causing it.

Anyone else had 999.9 mpg from a 3L V6
Is this linked to my 'running lumpy' as if on 5 cyl .
If you've had either of these symptoms what was it ?
Thanks in advance...

Re: V6 'running lumpy maybe on 5 cyl' ?
Maybe I should mention it's a 'W' reg 2.9 V6 estate. Thanks mjb, I'm going under the bonnet tomorrow so I welcome all suggestions, I will get an inlet manifold gasket from the dealer and a set of plugs from Halfords or similar. I'm afraid an oscilloscope isn't an option as I have little tech knowled...

V6 'running lumpy maybe on 5 cyl' ?
Almost stalled when starting a couple of months ago then started running hesitently. It felt as if it was running on 5 cylinders. The revs would jump around + or - 100 revs on tickover and I could feel an engine vibration through the speedo pedal when accelerating. If I keep the revs high / gear low...

Re: Help ! brakes fail intermittently judder felt
Driveshafts must be replaced as cog not available as a seperate part, Thanks doglife, like the option of repair in the other thread, worth a couple of hours with a wire brush and strong glue. Will have to investigate best glue. Dealer £290 each plus fitting.. Parts place £154 each plus fitting Scrap...

Re: Help ! brakes fail intermittently judder felt
Both front abs toothed cogs are broken, I'm told you can't just replace these , you need to replace the drive shaft. Is this correct?

Help ! brakes fail intermittently judder felt
Just passed an MOT, brakes fine but occasionally the brakes fail and a strong irregular thumping / clunking can be felt through the brake pedal and I have to take my foot off and re-apply then they work. Had the pads and discs checked and front replaced a couple of thousand miles ago. Going out now ...
