Re: 2.1 xud eml+running without the key

search for post under the name of poddack, I have had both faults, running on is due to the rubber bit on the end of the stop solenoid missing, speedo problems I cured by replacing bits in the box behind the glove compartment.

Re: 97 peugeot 406 2.1 td non start

i'd second the fuel problem, maybe glow plugs, are there any bubbles in the fuel lines, check the fuel filter, loosen the injector nuts to see if you have fuel there, from experience the 2.1 likes to wait until the glow plug light goes out before you start it.

Re: LEAKING COOLANT - FAN SWITCH

One thought, if the 106 is anything like the 406, do you have air in the coolant anywhere, might just need bleeding properly.

Re: Inlet manifold removal

you could try some Wynns EGR3, that supposed to do the job without stripping down, just remove the pipe between the manifold and the turbo. Some people get smoother response and better perfomance, I've tried it and all I have is a cleaned intake.

Re: bitch!

Back to my mot garage for a free handbrake adjustment (with all it's new bits). Feels much better, but they've only managed to get 21% out of it!
Is this the rubbish Peugeot handbrake I'm expecting?

Re: Overheating, Problem with Fans

There are 3 coolant temperature sensors, one for the engine ECU, one for the dash and one for the fans/aircon.
So if the temperature is reading right one of the others may be dicky!

SORTED! Took me from 6.50 to about 9.15 tonight to do it with a small desk light.
Two new handbrake cables
Two new caliper slider bolts
And a quick adjustment.
Now for some beer!

Re: Coolant Loss and Thermostat

The thermostat does indeed live at the back where the bottom radiator hose connects to the water pump.

Re: Coolant Loss and Thermostat

From experience on my 2.1, your bottom radiator hose probably needs replacing. It will leak where it connects to the radiator and the metal flange rusts so it's not able to make a good seal. Over the last 3 years my engine has run at about 70.c also, i'm not sure there's a problem. It might be a goo...

Re: bitch!

slider bolts for repairing my calipers were £29 for the pair from biggred, much better than £49 a side from the main stealer.
