Re: Anyone welded up a fuel tank?
Sorry Steve, looked at the shipping restriction list on the said site and thought the nearest country to you would be Italy and the fact that you said this sort of stuff wasn't available in Croatia. Geography not my strong point. BTW Germany is on the surface mail list if you haven't had a chance to...

Re: Anyone welded up a fuel tank?
Bit late to the fray (as always) but have you thought about this stuff? It would seem that it can be sent to an address in Italy by surface mail. As Russell Brand once said "I am helping aren't I?" Might be ok for next time Regards Wrinkly [url]http://www.frost.co.uk/item_Detail.asp?productID=8232&f...

Re: Broken Spring and top mounts
Ta very much Swiss, and thanks for the info about Wiki-looks good! The pictures I have taken are of the remains of the broken spring and the old and new thrust bearing. There should also be a picture of the slightly different damper rod nut that I obtained. Will also try to write out in logical orde...

Broken Spring and top mounts
Finished it at last! Replaced o/s spring along with new thrust bearing, nuts bolts etc. Spring was from local factors and made in Sweden by Kilen (probably made of chocolate-soon to break), drop link by Quinton Hazell, thrust bearing also by Quinton Hazell. Part nos if anyone interested:- Spring 211...

Re: Adding links and photographs
Many thanks Swiss, concisely explained and very understandable! Going to give it a go when I have collected all my pictures for all to see. They are not much to look at , but do show some interesting features (I think) of this tiresome repair that we all must face at some time or another! Will post ...

Re: Adding links and photographs
Thanks for the info dogslife but still don't understand how to do it. I need an idiots guide starting at No 1 ie "Turn on computer" with very explicit instructions thereafter. I do live in rural Lincolnshire and don't get out much these days because car often needs repair.

Adding links and photographs
Can anyone tell me how to add links to a post and photographs too. Thought I could add some pictures of my
escapades with replacing springs and top mount thrust bearings that might help others.

Re: Strut top mounts
Mystery solved! Took spring off strut again and had close look at thrust bearing-the oil I had poured in had done its work, bearing starting to separate, casing top & bottom very, very thin and frilly due to water and subsequent tin worm. Off to the factors tomorrow, hopefully they can supply just t...

Re: Strut top mounts
Ta very much Chiefy (if I may be so bold!) will give them a call tomorrow. Typical of me, I've just done a bit of checking on Service.Citroen (just the same layout and details etc as Servicebox for Pug) to see if I could find a similar vehicle that uses the same nuts and bolts as my 406, the reason ...

Strut top mounts
Good day all, long time since I've been here-so busy! Got a prob need help with. O/S/F spring broke while on drive overnight last week, got it all stripped down and finally reassembled yesterday but when turning the top mount by hand with strut in vice it's very stiff to turn. I did notice when in b...

Re: Brake pad wear warning light
Just happend to me too! Got the car back last week from MOT with new discs and pads fitted, goes for less than a week and said warning light comes on-albeit very dimly. Had a look yesterday, couldn't see anything, went back again today and found o/s set of pads with one of the wires was rubbing on t...

Re: Phillips Extreme Power H7 bulbs fitted
Been considering some of these too, but have a question:- When switching on the main beam in my 99 2.0 HDi, the dip beams stay on as well causing the light to be scattered everwhere with distant objects difficult to pick out. Is this supposed to work like this or has something else broken? Wrinkly57...
