Re: Cold starting issue
The ecu will not initiate injection until it 'sees' a cranking speed of >60 rpm Uneven running immediately after starting could indicate a glow plug problem - the glow plugs continue to operate for half a minute or so after starting to help even things out, (roughness is likely caused by not all cyl...

Re: RC lock/unlock

Re: Power Steering Failing
Ooops
My earlier thought was to look for motor/actuator/sensor on the rack to confirm or deny presence of variable power steering. Guess it won't be too easy to see but worth a punt.

Re: Power Steering Failing
Possibly try a second hand pump from a scrapyard - fairly easy/quick/cheap and should eliminate at least one possibility?

Re: Power Steering Failing
If it were mine, I would jack it up / get it on stands so both front wheels are off the ground and operate the steering from lock to lock with the engine off - this should reveal any stiffness or noise from the steering, joints, strut top bearings etc. Maybe get someone to twiddle the wheel while yo...

Re: Power Steering Failing
I think it's very unlikely - we've had three 2.2 HDi executives, none have had variable rate power steering. The electrical diagrams on this site imply you'd have an electically driven rack, (which fairly should be easy to spot).https://www.petrila.net/repair/index.htm Look under English/406/70 Driv...

Re: and today i have mostly been...
So it's still going on - maybe it'll quieten down once Trump's finished throwing his toys out of the pram? Must be really strange to experience a single earthquake, never mind repeated rumblings and so on. I guess the advice makes sense - getting outside far enough away from anything that could fall...

Must be disconcerting having terra firma anything but err firm.
Yes I'd noticed a lack of Welly of late, let's hope all's well with clan Welton.
