Re: How to undo the auxiliary belt excentric roller bolt?
My mate has an alternator and starter motor reconditioning business...my son worked for him for a while.
If you need any info on rebuilding alternators just ask.
There are several places near here that supply parts for alternators.

Re: How to undo the auxiliary belt excentric roller bolt?
It will work if the pulley is seized as in frog's case.

Re: How to undo the auxiliary belt excentric roller bolt?
The easiest way to replace the alternator pulley is to grip the pulley in a vice and undo the nut with a socket and bar then knock the rotor part out complete with the alternator leaving the pulley in the vice.

Re: Oil seal leaking ... again
You can leave the oil cap on with the engine running and then remove it after a while....any release of pressure will indicate a blockage. Check number 1 and number 2. The masking tape is to protect the lip on the seal from damage as the seal is fitted...you can also use a tube of some sort fitted o...

Re: Oil seal leaking ... again
When you take the old oil seal out check that the crank does not have a groove worn into it where the lip of the seal has been seated...this will cause an oil leak...If it has a groove, fit the seal so that it has a good surface to seal on. Check that the seal didn't get damaged when it was fitted o...

207 1.9 HDi?
As far as my knowledge goes they only did a 1.4 and 1.6 HDI in the 207.

Re: Estate tailgate don't lock
Apologies for the delay....................the locky bit in the tailgate, I can move the 'keep' across with a screwdriver, but it won't click into the locked position, is that correct? The catch should lock in place when you move it across with a screwdriver and be able to unlock as you pull the ha...

Re: Third gear
Seconded, although if its only in third the synchro ring is probably worn. Does it go into the other gears without baulking? If its the synchro it will probably be worse when cold, the thicker oil causes drag which can slow the box down. Peter It is only in third, all other gears are fine. Im suspe...

Re: Third gear
Is your biting point near the floor?
My experience with fitting new clutches to the 406, especially the 110 diesel, has been that the biting point is very low and will move higher...when it moves higher the gear selection problem will improve...it's perfectly normal in my experience.

Try adjusting the catch on the floor, bring it higher up.

Re: Estate tailgate don't lock
Are you sure the fork in the tailgate hasn't clicked over to the locked position?
If that is ok has the catch come loose on the car body?
Check the fork in the tailgate can be closed and locked using a screwdriver or metal rod.
