REPLACING AUTO TRANSMISSION FLUID

Hi, guys, Whilst servicing my GTX auto estate, I made the mistake of taking out the auto transmission drain plug rather than the engine sump plug! The car's done nearly 64,000 so changing the fluid will probably do it some good. However, I have two questions: 1. I've read on here that the fluid has ...

Re: Service Indicator?

Hi, Dogslife,

Just wanted to let you know that I did the first service on my GTX today and tried your method of resetting the service indicator.

I'm happy to say it worked and set itself back to 18,750.

Thanks very much again for your help!

Best regards,

Dave

Re: Service Indicator?

Hi, guys, Speaking of the service indicator, I can't say I've noticed any problems with its countdown on my 2001 GTX, but can anyone please tell me how you reset it when you've got a model with the remote control for the sat-nav? There's a section in my handbook (p132) covering this reset but it ref...

Here's my 406 2.0 GTX auto estate. Nothing done to it except polishing! Just a great looking car. :)

Re: NEW MEMBER WITH A QUERY

Thanks very much for the tip, Dai, you were dead right! I took out the offside stoplight bulb and one of the stanchions for the stoplight filament had collapsed and was touching the rear light stanchion! Mystery solved! :cheesy: Just off out to buy a replacement now ..... thanks again. Thanks for yo...

NEW MEMBER WITH A QUERY

Hi, everybody, My name's Dave and I've just joined your forum. I bought my 51 reg 2.0 GTX auto estate 6 months ago. I think I got a good deal as it had only done 48,000 miles, is in excellent condition and cost me £2,800 plus my 94 Rover 416 Tourer in part-ex. Apart from a recurrent niggle of the En...
