Re: Remove the Instrument Panel
Depends which bit you're on about. If it's just the cluster surround, then there's 2 screws above the steering cowls and then it just pulls out IIRC. Pretty much all the trim is easy to take out providing you've got the right size torx bits!

Re: Cheap car anyone ?
Where are you Lozz? Could be an ideal runaround for me and I can sell the 306.

Re: gear crunching 2.1td
I had the same problem on an old 309 1.3 that was my first car about 14 years ago now. I just got used to shifting into second before third on downchanging so never bothered fixing it. I didn't have to engage second, just move the gearstick from 4th to 2nd to 3rd with the clutch in. I always thought...

Re: My 98 2.1TD Executive
Well, engine back together and everything seems alright, except for the fact that I can't get the immobiliser disabled. On another note, if I do get the engine started and the car running again, I bid on a set of Goodridge brake pipes on eBay as a laugh and ended up being the only bidder so won a br...

Nope, still as gremlin prone and underrated as always...So, has anything changed in the world of 406's then??

Re: rear headrest removal
Is there not a button on the side of the bit in the top of the seat? That's how my saloon ones and the ones in the back of the 306 estate come out. If there isn't a button, then push them down a bit and lift them up quickly, but be careful not to whack yourself in the face with the headrest when you...

Re: How many left
The new guy with the 205 turbo posted this link up the other day for 309 GTi's. Not many Mi16's left by the looks of it either.

Immobiliser and PP2000
I think I may have found a friend of a friend who is an ex-Peugeot mechanic who has PP2000 and a Lexia3 and should hopefully be coming up to my house at some point this week to plug it in and see what we find. My question is this, can PP2000 be used on a 97 2.1TD (pretty sure it can but after clarif...

Re: 2.1TD Cambelt Fitting
Right, been out and stuck the freshly recharged battery on, and still the exact same problem. I can enter the code, but both red and green lights come on. I also tried adding the supposed default codes (0000 and 1111) and the lights did the exact same thing. :? Anyone got any ideas, or I am going to...

Re: 205 GTI XU10j2te
Not all that much to be honest. I'm just don't really want to finish it because then I'll have nothing left to do! I will get round to it at some point, just a matter of time and money really. Need to get it running and stuff, and there's a few other bits and pieces which will need sorting out. I ma...

Re: 205 GTI XU10j2te
Nice work so far, I've got a 309 which I really should get around to getting back on the road...
I've always liked the Laser Green colour, but Sorrento is my favourite colour on the 205 (or the 405 for that matter).

Re: 2.1TD Cambelt Fitting
Well, it's not purring. It's turning over fine, but not starting. It looks like it's an immobiliser issue as I've had to reconnect the keypad, and when I put the code in, both red and green lights come on. I've taken the battery off and will leave it on charge overnight, then stick it back on in the...

Re: I polished it at last, now for some questions.
Your C5 would look mint on some deep dish 19's or 20's when it's on the lowest suspension setting. Alternatively as you're not allowed to do much to the car, I'd think about spacing the wheels out a touch to fill the arches, but that's just me. It does look good though, and the hydrolastic/hydraulic...

Re: 2.1TD Cambelt Fitting
Belt's now on. Cranked it over 2 full revolutions by hand and seem to get compression on all 4 cylinders, and all locking holes aligned too! In the midst of rebuilding it currently, so hopefully by the end of the weekend I may have a running 406 for the first time since before Christmas... :supafris...
