Re: Stealers not charging enough?
I did my work experience in Corby Motors back when it was a Renault garage in 1998. never took my car back there after they became Pug. My 405 had some faults after sale and it came back to me with even more afterwards.

Re: New to the 406 world.. and i LOVE it
I'm the previous owner! Welcome Jay to the 'other side' . bit of a role reversal now as i'm back to a 306. I can confirm the seats i put in did have the heaters and the wires are stowed up the frame somewhere. I just never felt confident enough to run them through the fag lighter feed even though th...

Re: Remember the cars that lacked extras?
bit of a mixed bag for me, 1st car was a 1993 Renault 5 which iirc had r/w/wipe as an optional extra and not even a clock. I had a Cortina 1600E for a few years that had nothing (although quite a lot by 70's standards such as a rev counter!! and seat belts!), no servo brakes, a steering box instead ...

Re: How many 406's have you had?
only the one i've got. come the time to change i'll probably have a 407 or a very late 406 2.2 HDi SE . I've had two 405's in the past though so there is a pattern forming.

Re: 406 HDI 110 VS Renault Lagnua dci 1.9
I've driven my dads a few times, not too much between it and my re-mapped 406 but i wasn't impressed by the fuel burn- his returns low 40's where as mine is usually in the 50-53's

Re: Door card lights
stands for Built-in Systems Interface. in short it's a sort of ECU that controls all the cars accessories. From about 1999 onwards most Peugeot/Citroens come with multi-plex wiring that cuts down the number of connections but needs a BSI to keep it all in order. If the BSI doesn't know the door card...

Re: Door card lights
I'm in the same boat. they should work but the BSI needs re-programmed to activate them and currently only Pug dealers can do that (£££) i've heard of people suggesting to wire them to the interior lights but to be honest haven't been that fussed about them

If you PM me your email address i'll try and fashion together a circuit diagram of what i did and send it through as i've got to lift my seat up today to stop a bloody annoying s...

Re: d9 interior
are you trying to put it in with the ECU?? if you are not then i may be able to help you, i had to hard wire my seats in last year and it sounds like (so far anyway) your going down a similar path. have you soldered an earth wire onto the seat controls pad? once you've got your motor combinations wo...

Sadly yes it is a D9 and i can't really justify parting with cash for Pug to reprogramme it. besides which i'm tempted to go back to a cloth Rapier interior as leathers bloody freezin at this time of year!!

Re: 406 HDI (90) not starting ... not turning over at all!
sounds too familiar i know this experience aswell! on Saturday i was making my way back to Dunkirk from Amsterdam with a friend after a euro road trip (Nurburgring, Berlin, Szcecin, Amsterdam :cheesy: ) and pulled into a petrol station outside Brugges. filled up and went to restart the car- turned o...
