Will D8 driver's door mirror fit and work on D9 car?
Apologies if this has been covered before or if it's the wrong topic section: My 2002 D9 coupe recently got a clout on the driver's door mirror, snapping the plastic swivel section. It still seems to work electrically. I've sourced a replacement, but though the connecting block looks the same it has...

406 V6 D8 new and used parts
My beloved 406 V6 D8 manual saloon was written off in a Motorway pile-up just before Christmas 2012, so I am regretfully clearing my stock of new and used parts. I would like fellow members to have first go at these before they go on Ebay. Some parts will fit coupes also. U = used. Everything listed...

Re: Air Bag Warning Light!
Regarding 'bum warmers', there is actually a back warmer and a bum warmer in each seat. As they are wired in series if one goes, neither works. IIRC, the connectors are brown, so first thing to test is if you have power arriving at the seat. NB!!!! - it's no use just turning the ignition on and pres...

Re: Air Bag Warning Light!
I had exactly the same symptoms on mine; checked the plugs under the seats but they had already been removed and the connections soldered. I took it to my local garage who have a clued-in code reader operator at sensible rates. He diagnosed: 'seatbelt pretensioner no.2 faulty'. Assuming (correctly) ...

Re: D9 V6 Engine into D8 V6 body?
Thanks for the responses; hadn't realised this is old territory for some of you, but I've not been a member that long! My engine (D8) is fine at the moment, having recently had a cambelt change with everything related at the same time; it just occurred to me that if my engine ever went kaputt, someo...

D9 V6 Engine into D8 V6 body?
Has anyone successfully transplanted the ES9J4S 210BHP engine in place of the ES9J4 194 BHP one??
What are the snags? - what needs to be changed apart from the obvious?

Re: My V6 Executive
The best I've found on the V6 is to get an 'Unofficial' copy of the Dealer CD from Ebay for £3 !! Currently item no.350301527729.
Lots of good diagrams and step-by-step instructions. Since so much of the other running gear is stock 406 anyway, you probably won't need a Haynes at £18!!

New gen. Peugeot 406 parts for sale.
Crankshaft front oil seal for Peugeot V6 ES9J4 and ES9J4S engine. New and unopened. Part no: 0514.82. Genuine Peugeot part; cost about £15 from the dealer. Should also fit Citroen/Volvo/Renault versions of this engine, but check with your dealer first! Worth having one ready if you're planning a cam...

Alarm switch light always on
The alarm switch warning light on my V6 D8 is always lit when the ignition is on, no matter how you 'switch' it. Is this normal? - if not, what does it mean? - and could it have any connection with my cruise control not working??

ES9J4 V6 oil leaks
When I got my 406 V6 not quite three years ago, it obviously had a minor but long-standing oil leak which seemed to end up round the bottom engine mounting - not a good thing as you don't want the big rubber mounting to jellify due to oil contamination! These are the areas which I have found (so far...

Re: Peugeot 306 Roland Garros 1.6 1994 'L'
Have now added more views of the interior, not just the bad bits! - and also the correct pic of the dashboard IN the car.
Has anyone spotted yet that Roland sports a Knight Rider badge rather than a Peugeot lion on the grille?
Car will be listed on Ebay this weekend.

Re: Peugeot 306 Roland Garros 1.6 1994 'L'
Noooo! not THAT kind of face off!! The picture of the removed dash is proof(?) that the heater matrix has been changed recently - a pig of a job for anyone who's tackled it - it does require the whole dashboard out to do it - there's no other way. So I'm feeling quite proud of having done this for t...

Re: Power steering resevoir leak
Also worth checking that the vent in the filler cap is there and working; if in doubt, enlarge with a hot needle or pin; two of three 406's I've owned have had leaks from this area, and both were cured by unblocking the breather (though the first one had already had the clamp replaced by a main agen...
