Looking through the posts there are lots about vibrations caused by various engine mounts being worn.
Can someone with great wisdom and experience post a 'guide to how to know which engine mount is stuffed' please?

Re: EGR valve info needed
Thanks for your help. The EGR is 'down the back' somewhere and that's why a diagram would be helpful.

EGR valve info needed
Does anyone have diagrams or pictures showing details and position of the EGR valve on a 406 2.1 litre XUD engine please? (Also how to disconnect it) There's nothing in Haynes.

Re: Diesel Fumes
I've been told to check that the rubber seal running from side to side at the back of the engine bay is not worn or too compressed. That seal sits against the bonnet and seals the
engine bay from the air inlets. It won't solve the fume issue but may stop them entering the cabin.

It's a 2 litre XUD11 BTE non HDI engine with the epic pump (not leaking) and the injectors have recently been serviced. Car has done 170,000 kms.

strong fumes from engine bay of 1998 2l stdt 406
There are strong fumes from the engine bay even when car is cold and first starts. Not noticeable when car is moving but present again when car stops. Does not seem to be an oil leak so it must be exhaust fumes coming from somewhere. Any ideas? Also engine resonates through cabin at about 1100 revs....

Rear speaker cover
How do you get the rear speaker covers off on a 406 sedan. Do they just lever off or are they fixed somehow?
