Handbrake..............Again

Took the 6 for an MOT in Jan, Failed on the front flexies (brakes) and on the Handbrake............. What a shock :shock: :roll: Anyways got the bitch back, MoT pass, low and behold the handbrake is excatly the same, if not slightly worse. I live on a hill and still, post MoT, have to park in gear? ...

Had the same problem with mine. I pushed the TA/AF button and it got rid of the problem.
The AF light needs to be off.

I think i know what one of the problems may be now.. Was coming home from work the other night, when i thought I was being over-taken by a boy racer. It was when i changed gear I realised it was me. Bought the car in October so thought the slight 'rasp' was normal, Now I know the exhaust is Knackere...

Thanks for the replies, it seems to be ok in neutral, it is when in gear there is that delay especially when cold. but even when warm there is a bit of a delay :?: I am at a loss really because the car has always been well maintained.

Sorry if this topic has already been posted but..
I have a 96 (p) d8 2.0 16v LX, and when I put my foot down there is a second or so before I actually get moving, anyone with ideas or suggestions?
