Re: Who's still got there black bit !

I have my black rubber bit attached (and a spare one too) A handy trick to prevent it going AWOL is drill a small hole in each end and through the bumper and fit a small cable tie, so if it jumps out of the clips it remains on the car. I think it is fitted to improve the aerodynamics, but the effect...

Re: jbl amp help needed

I suspect the connections to the amp are faulty, the moisture there may have caused corrosion on the contacts and all they need is a good clean & dry. I had my head unit coded to my new car by: http://www.radio-code.co.uk/ Good service, but did cost £37 Check you are getting 12V DC power to the amp ...

Re: how to play mp3

I bought a Yatour YT-M06 RD3-Peugeot/Clarion to replace my 6 CD player two years ago. It works very well and I am very happy with it. It uses all the original controls of the Pug head unit, is the size of a single compact cassette box and is nicely hidden away in the non-smoking house which replaces...

Re: are front brake pads standard across the range?

I have a new box of Motorquip Lucas VXL888E which I can't use as I have fitted Brembos.

I'll post them to you for £10 if they are of use.

Re: Which rear springs for 406 V6 Saloon LPG?

I wonder why front shocks are Left & Right handed and the rear are not.

Anyways, many thanks for that info, Mr Earwig.

Re: Which rear springs for 406 V6 Saloon LPG?

The towbar and gas tank on my car add about 50kg extra weight to the rear of the car. The estate is 50kg heavier than the saloon, for the same engine type. This extra weight must be at the back of the car, so this suggests that estate springs are a good choice for me and should return the car to nor...

Re: Which rear springs for 406 V6 Saloon LPG?

Thanks.. Front height is fine, and I don't want it lower. What cars are the EW7J4 fitted to is that the 1.8? If the rear springs are special to the LPG car, they may be suitable. Are the front springs different too? Do you know if the v6 estate has different springs from the v6 saloon? Then perhaps ...

Which rear springs for 406 V6 Saloon LPG?

Hi all, I have an LPG tank in my 406 (aftermarket fit), and the rear suspension always looks a bit low, plus ground clearance is not ideal for my slopey driveway. Do LPG fitted 406s have different rear springs? Or are estate rear springs suitable to compensate for the extra weight? (I fancy replacin...

Re: Adding a radio transceiver to the 406

Hi, I have fitted an ICOM 2m/70cm radio in my 406. It isn't easy doing a neat install in a modern car. I bought an IC E-208 It is also a 50W tx with a small remote head, the smallest set I could find. The control head I have stuck on the fascia on the 'wood' trim to the right of the steering column....
