Re: Crankshaft pulley
On that note. I bought a cheap crankshaft pulley for my HDI 2.0. Fitted it over Christmas and two weeks later there was a new rattle... The bonding of the rubber was not up to spec and the outer ring had come away from the inner - rattling and spinning about chewing on the cam belt casing. I paid £1...

Re: Earth point location
Answering myself,
The location is called MC55 in pug wiring diagrams and is the termination point for M50D
It is the lower of two in the left hand front footwell, located where the floor starts to curve upwards at the front and to the far left hand side. just peel back carpet for access.

Re: Passenger fuse box easy question
Well, pretty much everything I suggested was true, except the IC11A connector is black - not white... The wire (VH18A) from the fuse went to the connector where on the female side it was terminated along with the other VH18A that headed off towards the middle of the car ready to split for the ash tr...

Fuses 20 and 21 do the side and tail lights in mine, I'll check them out but as all the lights work I suspect they're ok :( Busy tonight so it'll be tomorrow before I get a proper loo...

Re: Passenger fuse box easy question
I was toying with the idea of subscribing to service box for an hour - it's only 4 euros or so to see if there are any usefull wiring diagrams or technical documentation. Does anyone have or had access that could reccomend if the data on the site is worth paying for? I'd sign up now but I'm off to b...

Earth point location
Hi, I'm trying to locate the earthing point used by the cigar lighter, airbags, handbrake switch and the heated mirrors, electric windows. It is called E9 in the Haynes wiring diagrams and like two other earth points is located "LH front footwell" Evidently wires head towards it from the passenger d...

Service box surprises
Having found the service box characteristics page http://public.servicebox.peugeot.com/docpr/caracteristique.do quite useful for my 406 - I had a look at the options on my old 405 - just out of curiosity... This excert comes from the 'Various' section at the bottom: SPECIAL SPECIFICATION ALPINE ATMO...

Re: Over senistive ABS
I have also had the issue of ABS that's a bit to enthusiastic. My investigation of the ABS rings this evening reveals a beautiful example of what they shouldn't look like: http://andover.auld.me.uk/406/front-right-ABS-ring.jpg Just a little bit cracked but not moving on the drive shaft. http://andov...

Re: Which ODB II Cable?
Hi, fancied resurrecting this one! Does anyone have either a working link they might like to PM me for PP2000 or have a download they could host and link me to or post me a CD? Also, been looking in ServiceBox today... for my VIN I was browsing "Vehicle characteristics" - I was interested to ...

Re: VAN bus
ha ha, firstly I have a package ready to post for you, haven't checked my PP account yet. 1. I've settled on the convention of using &'s for all my function calls because IMHO it helps with readability. 2. The hash lookup is a great idea, as you might imagine the code has been hacked together bit by...

Re: VAN bus
No updates tomorrow - I promise! Schematic updated on website to correct capacitor mistake as mentioned before. This evening I've been working on code for the PC to make it easier to monitor the VAN in real time. It is of course a command line app  http://graham.auld.me.uk/projects/vanbus/v...
