yes already had that happen once snapped the cam in 2 places, i forgot to mention its a 1.9 xud td see what I mean...same car exact thing happened to me as well snapped the cam in two taking the center cam bearing with it.... :!: when i changed the tensioner on my car the new one came with rubber b...

whats your car bigblue2? I have a 1998 406 1.9td...same sort of problems. The aux belt get shredded after a few thou kms...had a dreadful time having piece of the aux belt going in to the timing belt and causing it to slip.. :evil: one wonders why pug didn't think of the possibility of thin happenin...

The Bosch diesel pump is said to be better to handle bio fuel than the Lucus pump which is a rotary type. Which type is yours? I read that most bio diesel users switch to Bosch pumps in order to use bio....

175bar :) Some folk put a bit of automatic transmission fluid in their fuel to give the fuel system a bit of a clean out (only maybe 100ml though). It's loaded with detergents and give the pump and injectors and bit of a birthday :) Thats new..wont it damage the piping and plastics? and whats the r...

Diesel Injector Pressure

Have any of you guys come across the recommended fuel pressure for the Injectors of the 1998 406 1.9td? My car is a little down on power and has a lot of smoke at the top end and thought of re pressurizing the injectors which is the easiest thing to do. :)

hey guys...had some time with the car....it was indeed the immobilizer problem :) took me about 1/2 hour to remove the plates...no hacksawing or grinding 3 allen blots and 2 torx thats it..don't know if some body previously removed the thing....I ran a line from the immobilizer power feed to the sto...

didn't have time to look at the car today...just curious to know how to get the car running if you accidentally lost the codes for the immobilizer...or some thing wrong with the key perhaps... can the dealers reset the codes..maybe reprogramme the ecu...and the other thing is can a dead battery or c...

Removed the back of the pump? Was the cover on the stop solenoid? Or the unit where the injector lines connect? Don't go throwing money at a pump technician yet, give us a few pointers to what you've done so far. http://www.eastment.net/Boschpump2.htm <- might help you visualise things. :) Thanks S...

can't imagine which is worse...a car that wont start..or a one that doesn't stop.... :) got some time to fiddle with the car. I managed to remove the back of the pump while still on the car. There are some non return valves that the fuel pressure must overcome to let fuel to the injectors....the fue...

thanks for the help guys... It doesn't have a immobilizer key pad....so i assumed there is none....so as swiss is saying it must be in the key...since i've removed the battery have i accidentally reset it or something. what do you mean by

Do you mean you have to follow a sequence to lock the pulleys one by one...cam => IP => Crank => Tensioner etc.....
