Ive found a wipe round the gasket surfaces with a drop of meths good.Be carefull not to over tighten rocker cover though.

You can buy flexi sections that are slotted at either end. i.e. cut out your old flexi and slot the new section over the two cut sections,if that makes any sense. Clicking noise sounds like steering pump.See how bad the sound is in full lock.
