Thanks for all the replies - I went for the scissor jack from TCUK (Garys link). It was the plastic threads that gave way on mine also.

Hydraulic Jack?

Hi all, my scissor jack has fallen to pieces and i was thinking of getting a bottle hydraulic jack. Would this be ok for my 1.9L 406? It seems to have a round 'saddle' with notches in it. In use, would It just slot into the same part of the car as the previous jack did ?

What does this dashboard dial indicate?

Hi, this may sound like a daft question but could anyone explain what the furthest left dial on my 406's (2.0 P reg) dashboard is for? It has 1 arrow and the dial has settings from 'off' to 'min' to 'max'. On starting the engine the dial lights-up and the arrow moves to 'max', holds there for a few ...

Hi All, Looking around this forum I'm guessing this simple Q should be easy for you all to answer! How do I change the immobiliser code? It looks like it should be 'key in existing code and press C, then key in new code and press S' but I don't want to make a mess of this. I'd be grateful of any hel...
