Re: Sun blind fixings

Does anyone know if the plastic clips are available separately? I finally got around to putting the non-broken rail on, but it's curved and mine's straight so it doesn't work properly.

This doesn't look promising:

Shock recommendations

I was quite suprised to see only 23 topics in the Suspension section of the forum. Am I doing something wrong? Anyway, I'm interested to know what sort of shocks and springs you fellows have had good experiences with on 406s. I've got a V6 sedan that I'd like to lower a touch and change the shocks a...

Re: 1.9 205 Alloys on 406......Will they be ok?

I wanted to put my 205 wheels with semi-slicks on the 406 when I took it to a track day, but they fouled on the front brakes. (Standard single-pot calipers with 283 mm discs).

Those Mi16 alloys won't fit over your front brakes either.

Re: D8.5?

^ It has a cruise control stalk - it's just blocked by the steering wheel in the photo.

What do you guys reckon the the old V6 goes like compared to the newer one?

Re: D8.5?

Don't know. Heater/AC controls were actually D9. I thought D9s had the plastic manifold V6. It had a D9 horn on the steering wheel but also a D8 headlight stalk with horn button that didn't do anything  And it was quite terrible upon closer inspection and test drive so I'll stick with my D8 for...

D8 Fuel Tank Capacity?

According to the handbook these have a 70 litre tank. Today my petrol light was on and the distance to empty had only just gone under 30 km where the display goes blank, but when I filled up the pump said I'd put 69.89 litres in  Before today I'm pretty sure I've only ever got 65 in. I didn't...

Re: More Beans at 4000rpm - a V6 trait?

^ I fixed this by blanking off the idle control valve hose. Must've been sticking open and making it run lean. Heaps more power now too. You don't think it's dangerous stalling whenever you change gear while braking? Oh, I also moved the clip on the throttle cable so that it won't stall. And mine's...

Wanted: V6 Idle Control Valve

Where do you jokers get idle control valves? Mine sticks open even after cleaning and the cheapest I can find here is the equivalent of £386.69 - only a bit less than a complete SV V6 with blown automatic I've seen advertised  :supafrisk:

Re: Sun blind fixings

^ Yeah. I got a replacement rail that goes along the top for about $3 from my local U Pull It/Pick a Part :cheesy:

Made a bit of a mess of the end trying to get the cap thing off with sidecutters though

Re: More Beans at 4000rpm - a V6 trait?

Anyone else with a V6 experienced this?

I'm sure with the accelerator 75% or more down, mine noticeably drops power at 3000 rpm, then picks up again at 4000 rpm. It's weird - like the flick of a switch. With light applications of throttle it moves through the revs smoothly though.

Interior Door Locks

I've noticed with my 406, the inside door locks show red when locked instead of red when unlocked like most cars. Does anyone know the logic behind this? :supafrisk:
